Which cell phone service provider?
#22
I have verizon, and it is the best. I say this because it was GTE and this was one of the first cell phone companys, along with cellular one(now At&t) now merged with cingular. These 2 companies were around when the government regulated the market and those were the original 2. Btw cingular sucks.

Verizon Wireless used to be GTE, Primco if you're from the south, Airtouch for CA, Bell Atlantic if you're from the North East, Qwest if you're from the north west, not to mention all the little mom and pops shops

I'm still stuck with the Cingular/AT&T plan for another month. Ever since they combined, I can't call out until 5+ tries. I can receive most calls, but sometimes I don't even get a ring.

HA my g/f complaines about Cingular so much its not even funny ...she spend countless hours with their customer service line that I feel sorry for the employees (sometimes)I had At&T but I am under the digital not the GSM network. I believe this is where the concern is I dont have the drop calls and rebooting of the network system and recharging the phone every nite concerns, she regrets ever updating her phone and switching to cingular's GSM network

Hmmm... if Nextel is merging with Sprint, which I hear so many complaints about... wouldn't Nextel service get worse before it gets better, like AT&T and Cingular? AT&T and Cingular was supposed to get better with expanded coverage.. but never did.

Nextel...They might not be the cheapest but are usually the best. I mean, if the "Fast & Furious" crew is using them, they gotta be the best?
Verizon is great too. It also comes down to handsets, cause with Nextel you're not going to get a free camera phone. Nextel's doing many things right, look at their stock over the last year.

I hate my Nextel phone and coverage. I've had Nextel since 2000. I live in Santa Clarita and work out in Northridge. I get at least 2-3 drop calls a day. I thought it was my phone and I've upgraded and still the same. I hope they do this merger thing cause I'm really looking into the Verizon phones.

I've had sprint for 3 years now. I like the phones I have had.
I have the LG PM-325, which has its ups and downs.
My main like for the phone is the data connectivity rates.
Sprint is fast. Especially with Edge enabled devices.
Their service sucks of course, and their phones do seem to die "conveniently" after the warantee expires. But if you want features, sprint has what I am looking for.
Sprint and Verizon are currenlty the only CDMA networks. And except for the fact that Qualcom are dick heads I like CDMA technology better than GSM.
There are some wicked CDMA phones in Japan like the Foma 700it etc. But alas, because of retarded marking we won't ever see phones like that for 20+ years.
My BEST advice, is to go with T-Mobil or Cingular and get a foreign phone, unlock it, and drop your simcard in it.
That way you can get a kick *** phone and go with some decent calling plans.

Alltel, Cingular, or U.S. Cellular, they are top 3 as far as towers across the country. Enough said.
I have Alltel, but I would switch to Cingular in a heartbeat if they would offer a "touch-2-talk" service.
