Default Moving down to SoCal

Hi Guys, I'm moving down to Marina Del Rey on Saturday, and I was wondering if there's a good dealership in the area that I could take my car into for servicing. I know Performance Nissan is good, but Duarte is a bit far from west LA. Is there a dealership near Marina Del Rey that has good service?

Thanks in advance!

Gardena Nissan has good service. Vernon Clark is my service advisor. Very happy with the service there.

The closest one is either Santa Monica or Culver City. I bought 2 oil filters from the Culver City dealer.

the sales dept is definitely the bottom of the pit, but service-wise, speaking from experience, i used to take my altima there and they actually have a card that shows you what they do for the services, and its more than what normal dealers do, however i've never taken my Z there yet...

Hey spf4000, I remember you!

Bought my first Z at Universal city Nissan and did one oil change there -- never again.

I've used Performance in Torrance (Brett) with no complaints. hfm also likes him.

With the new Z I've gone to Miller in Van Nuys - one oil change and ok so far, altho the service advisor was a little too frat boy.

In terms of South Bay Nissan Dealers...

I have mixed feeling about Torrance Nissan and Superior Nissan (Carson)

Torrance Nissan replaced my motor and did not do a great job in cleaning up the engine bay. Also they broke grommet on my door. The mechanics are nice at Torrance but the service advisors are idiots.

Superior Nissan in Carson. I went when they just openned so they had not worked on a Z before... But they should be better now... The imported a bunch of their people from their West Covina location.

If you are willing to drive to Baldwin Park. Our shop will do services for you. We will do all the same services the dealer does and use OEM parts. And we have the option for Mobil 1 Synthetic.

Congrats on moving to Sunny SoCal.

Hey Iris! I remember you too. We've been around for a while, huh? It sounds like Torrance is one of the better places to go near Marina Del Rey. I'll have to check them out once I go down there this weekend.

Thanks everyone for all your information! I can't wait to come out to one of the meets!

Also, are there a lot of people who track their Zs down in SoCal? I've been going to Infineon and Thunderhill up here, so I can't wait to try out Buttonwillow!

There are not a ton, unfortunately. I've just started (1 track day at Willow Springs). I'm going to try and make Buttonwillow this Tuesday but I've been going with a Bimmer group, b/c there's a guy at work who tracks his E36 M3 and I like going with people I know. Who knows, maybe the track events will start getting more active....

I'll have to try to make it to a track day as soon as I move out of corporate housing. All my gear is in storage right now, so I don't have my track tires or helmet.

spf4000 I found a great place to take a midnight cruise in that area. It's between the end of the 90 and Culver. Head west to Culver and then south on Vista Del Rey you'll hit a nice stretch before Manhattan beach. I took it last night cause I didn't want to hear my room mate watching TV.

Oh, I know where you're talking about. It's right by Electronic Arts, right? I drove through that area yesterday.
