Default Have anyone been to the Salton Sea???

My friends are planning on a fishing trip to the Salton Sea. Not too familiar with the area and wonder have anyone else been there. I hear it is a salt water lake so maybe someone with previous experience can tell me what they caught there. Tilipia, Mackrel, Scorpion or maybe a lake monster hahaha.

That might be an understatement. If there is no wind, I'd advise against going, made me a bit sick.

talapia is easy too catch there on a full moon. just scoop them up on near the shore. i caught about 50 one nite last summer. corvina is easy to catch in the day time using a rod. the best place would be at the end of the strech of rocks. that place smells like sh*t so i dont recommend brining your gf there. theres agircultural and sewage runoffs there.

Possibly because of increasing salt levels fishing hasn't been very good there for the last year or so. They used to catch Corvina there but every report I've seen lately says fishing is bad. May be able to catch Tilapia near the rock jettys. Still kind of neat out there cuz it's so large. Careful on Highway 86 on the way there. Its' the "killer" highway. Last week a baby was killed with the Mom and sister on life support.
