Go to costco.com and get a membership if you don't already have one.

Then use their car buying service to find you a great deal (no haggle price) on whatever kind of Z you want.

Worked for me, I got $500 over invoice on a touring. I wasn't even going to bother with this costco business, but it was recommended to me by someone I knew. Then, after I ignored the advice from that person, costco was subsequently recommended to me by about 5-6 other people I didn't even know!

This is not BS...this is for real. You will get a great deal on just about any new car. It has worked for dozens of people that I've talked to.

http://www.costcoauto.com/index.asp?

Since you already know what you want, go to the "Contact a Dealer" section.
Fill in your info, including costco member #. A dealer will contact you regarding the best possible price. It will be a good, fair price.

If the dealer doesn't contact you, you should at least get a SPECIFIC contact at a dealership near you. If they don't call you, CALL YOUR CONTACT(S). I got called by a guy named Mitch at Santa Monica Nissan. He is a great guy, he was like WAY more honest than needed to be. He even held the car for me without a deposit, simply on my word that I would buy it.

It throws you off a little bit, but it worked out great in the end.

Uh, I don't think it works like that...this is for new cars.

For used you're pretty much on your own. I rarely ever consider buying used from a dealership, but I might make an exception in the case of the Z just for the dealer extended warranty, since some 03's and 04's have been known to have some issues. Before you ask what those issues are, spend a few hours browsing old posts in the repairing forums.

Still, with any high performance car I would probably buy new unless I am fairly certain of how well the car was taken care of. You should be fine as long as you get late model year 04... I would stay away from the 03's.

Heh, in the original post you didn't mention anything about used. I figured you wanted new since you're talking about dealerships.

Just look through losangeles.craigslist.org classifieds every day... it's probably one of the best classified listing sites around... definitely better than any newspaper.

My guess would be invoice + $400. This would bring you to about $28.7k OTD...

Again, just a guess. Keep in mind, base model Z's aren't very common from what I saw when I was shopping around... you're better off getting the enthusiast, it's the most bang for your buck.

I saw a while ago a member here got an enthusiast for like 29K OTD in Performance Nissan Duarte. Chances are, you might get it for even cheaper when the 06s are in.

alot of people are suggestting to wait for the 06 to come out to get a better deal. so ill probably try and find out more and go look for a brand new 05 when the 06 hit the dealership. thanks everyone for helping me out. This might be unrealistic but does anyone think i can get one OTD for 24000-25000??

i got my 04 PPW Enthusiast model @ cerritos (brand new) and their service sucked a$$. But i was able to haggle them (~5 hrs of negotiating) and ended up with a pretty good price for it...27K OTD.

ditto.... i went through sales manager after sales manager... every time i declined their counter offer they sent in a new manager to take care of me... i'd say i spent about 4-5 hours trying to get my price
