I had a so so day at the drag, had some kick *** 60's, but had problems finishing the down the drag strip.

1st Race, I cut a nice 2.130 60', but I mis-shifted 3rd and ended with a 14.8.

2nd Race, I cut another nice 2.179 60', but I got that dreaded wheelhop on 4th gear and DG35 (G35 coupe, auto with some nice mods) passed me up. I ended up coasting to a 15.1.

3rd race, I missed my group number.

4th race, I tried to launch at 3500 RPM (I felt I could try a higher RPM range and hope to get a 2.0 60'), but that pretty much destroyed my 60' to 2.313 and ended with another 14.8. DG35 got a nice 14.4, but his 60's was in the 2.2's on drag radials, I think he would of been capable of 14.2's.

I was pretty impressed with my 60's since I was running 35PSI on Eagle F1's GS-D3 (235 rears on stock 17's), but that created alot of wheelhop going into 2nd and gave me grief with the nasty wheelhop going into 4th. I miss street traction.

I guess I'm overall happy that I can now cut 60's 2.1 on 35 PSI. Just I'm a little pieved that I should of been finishing 14.4's all day.

Nice 60 ft I think you mastered it. I'm not sure what the deal is with all the wheel hopping. Last time I was at LACR I was chirping 2nd and third but no noticeable wheel hop. What was the weather like? Did you do any race prepping?

I think its the Eagle F1's and CSW's slippery surface is causing alot of my wheelhop problems. I know another Z member on this board that has the same problem as I do on his stock potenza's. However, it seems like most Z's aren't plagued with this problem I have. I'm starting to suspect really its my tires causing the wheelhop going into 2nd and 4th, but they sure can cut some nice 60's on stock OEM size. On the street, I don't have any problems compared to the drag strip. I might try +sizing with Kuhmo MX's as my next tire set up, hopefully that'll change my wheelhoping issues.

I really didn't do any race preping other than take my spare & jack out and have 6 gallons of gas in the tank. I do the normal dry spin of the tires for a brief second before I line up for the lights.

The weather at CSW was quite decent and most Z's could run between 14.3 to 14.5 granny shifting. If you tried powershifting, you might get squirly. Someone tried it and he did have his back end get squirly a bit. Just my wheelhop issues plagued me the wholeday + driver shifting error denied me from some decent times.

Most had some minor mod, mainly breathing mods. I think I'm closest to stock, besides my SS brake lines.
