Default This happens at every shop...employees and friends and their hard looks

LOL I went to Super Autobacs twice this past weekend. Went on Saturday to check out their audio section to replace my POS Sony h/u (ended up buying an Alpine CDE-9843 and installed there) and went on Sunday to pick up a cellphone holder that I forgot to buy the day before. I live down the road so its convenient.

Each time there's always a group of autobacs employees hanging out at the Boba shop next door sittin around checking out the cars that go by that are worth lookin at. My car being modded of course they all give me the look...that 'professional visual evaluation cuz I work at a shop' look bordering on glaring like they're too cool for school and my car isn't. But this isn't the first time, happens all the time at shops all around. I remember talk'n to a shop owner years ago and he told me he wouldn't park the cars he fixed up in the front nor let his employees hang out in the front cuz he didn't want potential customers to be scared off maybe thinking their cars weren't fixed up enough or intimidated by the hard gangsta azn looks, lmao. Kinda makes me laugh cuz half of those barely past puberty punks think they got the job that immediately gives them street cred, what they don't realize is that every year a whole new batch of boyz get their driver's licenses applying for that same job and its not like they're highly desirable McLaren F-1 aero engineers.

Anywho, just an observation and yes I would like some cheese with my whine. I'll keep shopping at autobacs for my non-performance stuff...nice to be in a place big enough to browse around in while waiting for a stereo headunit install.

the only explanation i have for you is that they are idiots. they live at home, make 10 bucks an hour (no offense to those that live at home, make 10 bucks an hour and drive Z's) and are jealous of you and your car.

ROFL!! I know exactly what your talking about. They'll get even a bigger surprise when I step out of the car (black NSX with tinted windows), because I'm half white, half asian (to asians I look white, to whites, I look asian ).

LOL...I think they were expecting a ricey, baggy pants, spiky hair, thug looking ricer to pop out of the car. It irks them even more when my girl steps out (I used to have an asian one, and now a white one)...I don't know what pisses them off more...seeing a "white" looking dude driving the NSX, "white" looking dude dating an asian or a "white couple" stepping out of the NSX

(only exterior mods are: Window tint, lowered and bronze pro-racer gn+ wheels.)

Ok...I'll be the first to admit, that I'm one of "those guys". Hehehehehe, I've sometimes been caught off guard when I see a fixed up ride, I'll have to do a double take when its some older geezer driving it.

I dont think i will go to that FOB town, (dont worry, i'm asian but i despise those little kids...) Autobacs is a great place to look at the items you want and talk to the sales peeps...but then head online and purchase it from a website...=) IMO, autobacs is too expensive and the crowd that they attract are those annoying little kids that think their parents have an never ending bank roll....anyways...my $0.02

No offense to anyone who works there...
but damn some of those kids at Super Autobacs are young!

I have to admit though, I DO give the 'professional visual evaluation' when I see modified cars too. It's hard to give a "thumbs up" or properly acknowledge every suped up car you see.

I imagine these kids at Autobacs see dozens of rides every hour, the only thing they CAN do is stare.
If I was a kid working there the only thing I'd be concerned about would be fitting in enough OT to pick up those newly stocked Tanabe 92 Honda Civic lowering springs. "Pimp it" like all the customers I see everyday.
