taking traffic school is pleading guilty, its like pleading out...

technically yeah it is pleading guilty but its off the record. it is only reported to the DMV, but the information is suppressed from your insurance comany so it wont raise your rates and theres no point on your record. if i were you id take the traffic school and just get it done in one easy step. if you decide to fight the ticket, do a trial by written decleration. the best thing about a trial by writ is that you can fight the ticket without having to go to court, they send you a form to write down your case and the officer who cited you gets a chance to respond too. the thing you are hoping for is that the officer does not respond in which your case gets dismissed. but if the officer responds and you lose, you can ask for a new in person trial called a trial de novo. its basically like a second chance at winning. but again you might not win both trials or you might win one. hard to tell. but id take the traffic school if the fine is below 250 dollars. ive had many experiences with traffic tickets as well. just my .02

Fight it through the mail. It is a loophole that works every time. I'm sure there is more info on ticketassassin.
