Default Neptune's Net

Anyone eaten there?

I was watching "The Fast and the furious" the other night (my fav two minutes of the movie when they complete the supra, jump on PCH, race, and then get some shrimp).

It turns out that Neptune's Net is the place they stop to eat, and I read it to be a local favorite.

I've never been, but would like to stop by one of these days.

47!

It's around 160 miles from SD...a doable day trip.

"Nice ride, how much?"
"More than you can afford," says the rich guy with the girl, "Ferrari." Rev, Rev, Rev.
They look at each other and Vin Diesel says: "Smoke 'em."
And, the Ferrari becomes road kill...

Loved that movie.

Count me in on that trip.

Woot! I wasn't really interested in seeing the movie, but the line is killer... time to go rent it and see what it's all about.

Funny I just saw a 360 Modena on the road. Beautiful car. Someday...

I hated that part. A 10 second supra should have left a mid 12 second ferrari in its dust. All they did is weave through the traffic with a subtle win by the supra. I would have loved to see the ferrari dude get his *** handed to him!

Same case with the porsche/civic race in the beginning of the film. Dissapointing and unsatisfying!

I think he had several car lengths on the Ferrari and finished parking at the restaurant before the Ferrari caught up.

So, who's setting up a date and time for this? Aloharacing, your thread, your schedule eh?

Default LET'S DO IT.

Wasn't it Tone Loc who said that?

As far as I know, any weekend besides Feb. 17th (the OC meet), Mar. 2/9 (am trying to go on vacation then) is good for me.

Are you confusing the porsche / civic race with "gone in 60 seconds"? I don't recall a porsche / civic racing in F & F.

supra / ferrari: I think the film gives the impression that he DIDN'T use nitrous in that showdown. With spray, it's a 10 second car. Without (given that he didn't), it's probably in the 11's...which would make the race more realistic.

Maybe I posted this thread a bit early, but I was thinking more towards the spring...maybe in March. Reasons:

1. Warmer weather (not that it's cold, but still)
2. Hopefully, by that time, more people will have siginificant mods done to their cars (more specifically: FI, wheels, exhaust, body kits, etc)

Feedback? Ideas? Input?

fine by me. That makes it a meet a month, what with SF Valley in Jan and upcoming OC in Feb. Any more and hubby gets jealous, LOL. Not that I still wouldn't do it, but I'm just saying.
