Smile Fake Tein - Color

Thanks for the warning.

I'm suprised the Fake manufacturer got the Color matched perfect.

Maybe Tein's supplier....... ?

Cheers Amy -

WOW, without that detailed description, no one could tell the difference! I'm looking into the coilovers! Are there counterfeits for those as well, probably much hard to do I assume, but you never know!

LOL Agreed

I'm sorry, but there is no way someone would go out of their way to make a detailed box, get it printed, make the springs, and counterfit them. It takes way to much time. It's not like "Tein" is the best, I can see it happening from another expensive brand. I agree with AmyCroft here, seems like TEIN forgot to pay the bills and now the manufacture is selling on the side. A very common thing to happen when you upset the manufacture. I've seen it many times (I'm in the manufactuing business).

Another thing that came to mind because I know of a company that "faked" a report just like this. It was more of a marketing scam so that you ONLY BUY from authorized dealers. The whole story was BS about counterfeiting their wheels. But reality was it was just to get more exposure and publicity and keep everyone from buying only from their dealers. perhaps could be the case?

Really? Ive never seen that. Ive seen rims that look like TE37, everything is almost identical but not counterfits where the box say's "Volk Racing" and the rims actually have a "VOLK" Sticker? I think if their was a counterift Volk wheel, the person buying it would know right away when they pick up the heavy wheel.

I completely agree,

Nobody wants to copy a low cost spring set, there is no profit in that. At least if they copy anything it should be, electronics, rims or something of value not 100 dollar springs. Tein is starting to disappoint.

Someone is trying to make a fast buck! The color doesnt seem that difficult to replicate. I have cousins that powder coat kitchen appliances for a highend brand and we color matched the Spoon yellow/green and the Signal Auto gold when power coating his S2000 valve cover. Once you have a color code you spray all your low budget spring and stamp them with a fake serial #. What gets me is why use a Tein sticker when you can stamp the logo like the serial #. I guess they are leaving a loop hole for denial if they ever get caught. The sticker would be a dead give away for me. The box is very well made.
