Gimp....put your stocker on and ride the wave until its safe to come back in again! HKS is to sweet of an exhaust to give up. Plus, even if you can prove that the HKS is LEGAL in all aspects, its not very smart to contridict your interviewing officer. Show your a team player..Once your in put that bad boy back on. Dont give up good money and great pension for an exhaust! Good luck.

I had to pull those sources because I was pulled over for "modified exhaust" a couple months back.... the irony of the whole situation is that I had a STOCK exhaust !? The cop eventually let me off with a warning but I had to get my resources together just in case it happened again. That is the wonders of living in Irvine.

Now...to address the "anything louder than stock"......hmm well, refer to the....
27150, 27151 & 27200 of the California Vehicle Code; and Title 13 of the California code of Regulations, Section 10361, which establishes a noise limit of 95dB(A) for passenger cars. This statement applies to unmodified HKS exhaust systems that are less than 13 months old, are in good condition and which have been properly installed on the specific vehicle for which it was designed.
Hense why I think its all BS......but at the same time, do I think every car with an exhaust out there is legal? oh hell no!....its just those that ruin it for everyone else.......but in the end, its the peace officer judement call..or in some cases lack of judgement.
ok..rant off

You should definitely swap it out.....
I might be interested in trading you for my stillen. Its barely louder than stock, and looks almost exactly like stock except for straight cut tips and chrome muffler. Also, it makes the most power of any exhaust. Let me know.
