Default Did Performance Nissan screw up my oil change?

i've been having my servce done at performance nissan for almost a year now. Overall they have been great to me. Here is a question though...

I have recieved a letter from Castrol. They thank me for using my products and gave me an $8 rebate for the castol syn blend that was used. the letter states that I should present it to performance nissan so that they take $8 off the next oil change. here is the deal....I ALWAYS BRING MY OWN OIL and use only MOTUL or ROYAL PURPLE!!...

what the heck?

Did they run a rebate code for your oil change to get you a cheaper price?

when we make work orders its a certain line # for customer pay (Exmaple 41) then the job.. since the techs that do your oil change flags hours.. it'll be something like job 515.. that'll automatically enter the line for the work order "oil change service was performed" and pay the tech .3 hours or whatevers..

we sometimes send promotions/coupons to all the customers.. so example.. every customer thats had job 515 done more then lets say 5x gets sent a rebate..

at least thats what im thinking..

Taste it to see if it taste like Motul? or if it taste like Castrol Either way, I'm a Castrol fan and can tell you that your engine is in good hands regardless of the oil that was put, so I wouldn't worry

I'm not questioning the quality of castrol. far from it. but I did pay a bit of a premium price for the motul and royal purple...it's a shame if they never used it.

Dont worry, if you are providing your own oil you should not be getting charged. When your information is entered on an RO, it automatically takes that info and send the coupons to the customers. Even I get those coupons every month!
