Yup.. guess they got nothing better to do... There are a lot of CHP's patrolling the 101 and the 5 lately... I've been seeing a bit too many.

there is a difference between harrassment and you're violating the law.
I hate when they target imports as much as everyone but if you're drivng 41 in a 35 mph zone you are speeding and if you don't slow down around the cop you're basically flipping him off.
Not wearing the seat belt right is another one of these especially with the Click it or ticket campaigns right now.
put your front licence plate on or pay the price...it really isn't that ugly.

just my humble opinion.

I ain't got shi-te on my car, but they take the time to follow me, right up my azz, just waiting for me to do something. The minute they take off, I'm off and running.....I spend a lot of time fishtailing when I make turns, wondering if they notice.

They've also driven up to my window, and commented on how loud my music is, so I take the time to bring up the losers who's music is so loud, it shakes my windows. How is that different, and mine isn't even that loud!

Actually, I can honestly say that I have never gone 6 over in a 35. In town and in residential areas, I do the speed limit. There is a reason I have been driving for over 15 years without a single ticket.

What sucks, is getting pulled over for a modified exhaust when yours is stock.

And then arguing with the cop over that fact. Meanwhile there is a chopper shop down the corner with people on choppers ripping by. And you are 1 block from a nissan dealership.

Orange Co's PD are dicks sometimes.

The best I've had was when I came home, pulled into my garage, and had a cop pull into my driveway and blast me with his lights. Then ask me If I lived there, and if I was drinking.

Um, no officer, I just happen to pull into some random person's garage, whose garage door just coincidentally opened right before I pulled into it...

What a stooge.

Reread it smartass, I don't speed in town or in residential areas. It is possible to be a Z owner and not a dick.

6 try 50!

But not in front of the cops ... contempt of badge - that power trip that the cops get. "How dare you flaunt your ability to drive 6 miles over the limit ... " that just gives them a reason to do a license, registration, and insurance thing while checking for drugs and alcohol. Honestly the cops have better things to do than to stop a 6 mile over the limit driver but if you fit the profile - young and driving out late - they might as well pull you over and see if you've got a crack stem sticking out of your pocket.

Personally I don't enjoy giving the cops a reason to pull me over as I'm quite often armed and that's a nasty $200 fine and an hour or so while they run the weapon for registration.

Knowing more than a few cops the biggest things you can do are the simplest - use your turn signals, make sure the bulbs are all working, use your front license plate, keep your registration current, watch the excessive tint and speed.

Those rules are pretty easy to follow and aren't "essential liberties" that I'm not willing to give up to drive on a public street.

alright... calm down gents.

I think it's this comment that ticked him off.

Shoulda bought a Rio or something
Cops usually like to follow sports cars. I get followed a lot but I just usually let them follow... you should'nt worry too much so long as you are not doing anything specially wrong. I even pass CHP's at 5~8 mph over the limit and they are fine with it.

Depends on where you live Nashville is HOT, Anytime there is a cop around you will see me in front of them...they bug me like crazy. I feel I am being singled out. I drive the speed limit except on interstate but on the streets I drive the limit and people pass me and I turn around and OLE SMOKEY pacing me. My radar is almost dead it goes off so much I am going to have to retire it after 2 yrs poor radar.

Here's my take. My car is one of the loudest out there and have not been pulled over for the exhaust. I've had anywhere to semi aggressive kits to very aggresssive. Yes on occassion I will speed from time to time. But if there is a cop near me and I'm going slightly past the speed limit then take your foot of the pedal and slow down with out braking. Let the cop pass you then proceed to your normal driving. The only thing I keep getting is those front license plate ticket. Try to be aware of your surroundings. You know if you have aftermarket parts on your car then you should expect a bit of harrasment. Been in the game since 92 and with some of the other cars I've had I already paid more than my share of fix it tickets. I'll take a bit of harrasment anyday over getting a ticket and having to take time off to get the stupid thing signed off and pay $10.

Now if you were a cop doesn't my car and a number of Z scream pull me over

I was a cop for over 20 years. I retired almost 4 years ago. I know how the cops think and I know what they look for. You guys are giving the cars way too much credit. Most of what you are experiencing is just plain old paranoia.
