Why dont you just print up some phony CARB stickers for the parts you have for about $5 and an hour of your time?

If I'm understanding your offer correctly you are going to turn the state on the vendor/manufacturer... that would be futile for all of us that are into modding in the first place. I keep reading, "The consumer goes free"... or whatever the phrase was... What is the bottom line? Are you offering a legal service that throws manufacturer or vendor under the bus so we can take advantage of a loophole in the state law?

I'm not passing judgment here - just want to understand correctly what you are suggesting.

Of course I haven't needed their service in a long while. I have CARB numbers for every mod on my car that requires it. And I am waiting for JWT to get their CARB number for their TT kit!

Long live trees and green mother Earth--YO!
You may have a long long wait. Do you really think JWT is going to get CARB exempt certification? I think they will have the same issues with the cold start emissions as APS. Once the engine is warmed up on an APS TT car, the emissions are actually cleaner than a stock motor. The problem lies herein with the fact that the catalytic converters cannot burn the exhaust gases on a cold start which results in an unacceptable level of emissions within the CARB guidelines.

I was once a dreamer and used to think any aftermarket Turbo or Twin Turbo would get CARB exemption but after reading posts going all the way back to 2004 about "JWT is working on getting CARB exemption next month" in the thousands of posts...I don't think so at least not in my lifetime.

That's what I thought. A Vortech or Stillen badge for a Turbonetics.

I have serveral friends who know friends ... $100 is what you'll pay give or take and that gives you a certification that is good for registration ... just be careful.

way to bring back a 5+ year old thread. and your first post?

BTW, go to your local CHP office and ask them, tell them you "know the UPS guy" and they'll take care of you.
