I am thinking of going too. You guys want to caravan there? I talked to a track representative about this and she said that they fill up at 400 cars early. She recommended getting to the tech inspection early, they will let you enter the gates at 6:00 am for the 7:00 am tech inspection I was told. Damn 6:00 am
. Also, we may get 3 runs each day, 2 for sure. Let me know if those going want to caravan.
This will be my first time running the 1/4 mile, so I'm nervious but excited at the same time. Any suggestions about what to expect?

I want to go, but I'm not sure about the $20 for MAYBE 2 RUNS. Past experience shows that it'll definitly get packed since its the first day its open to the public since last year.
The 2 runs might be worth it since:
1. You should get better traction.
2. You got tailwind advantage
The not so worth it:
1. You get 2 runs.
2. It's going to be too #$%^&$# hot this day.

chances are you get at least 3 runs, usually 4 depending on how many cars break down. Still does not compare to the 30 + runs you get during the privates but from what it looks like there won't be any privates for the rest of the year because cali dragway overbooked
I'll probably go spectate on Saturday. But I highly doubt anyone will get 3 or more runs with that being the first day the track is open and the track not available for private runs. I'll probably try my luck depending on Saturday's outlook.
im interested but i think i found out about it too late (i might already have plans). i see the next time they have a street legal will be in september.
this would also be my first!

for you first timers:
bring lots of water or cash for water it will be HOOOT
pay attention to other cars and don't be afraid to ask questions.
If you're running stock tires don't rev too high, 2500 rpm is a good starting point to launch. If you feel you're loosing control at the slighest get off the throttle. Always better safe than sorry.
Don't expect great times at the beginning, drag racing is difficult don't give up too fast.
Bottomline is: have fun!!! It's the best feeling...ok the second best feeling in the world when those g's throw you in your seat
