Hi-Flow cats, Pass emission testing in SoCal
Asked this question in exhaust forum but thought it fits here in SoCal better. Are hi-flow cats carb approved and will they pass our stringent emissions testing?
I don't want to take them off for testing and reinstall after, might as well run test pipes...

Not illegal if you don't get caught kind of idea? As long as you know that California does not allow that change from stock cats. If something goes bad with your stock cats, you may only replace them with "stock" cats. Suks..yes.

It'll be fun when I have to take my G in. I've got the headers, high flow cats and cat back exhaust. Luckily I kept everything except my mid pipe so I can switch it all out if I have to.

My plan: take the car in with the HFC on. Play it cool. If they ask what happened to your cats, just say your stock ones cracked going over a speed bump, so you took the car to some small shop to get them fixed. The small shop replaced the cats with the ones on your car.
If they ask about the shop, just say you can find the receipt and get back to them

I have headers and cat back. I paid $25.00 for a smog pre-test just to see if I was still running clean, and the tech told me "you could breath what's coming out of my exhaust it's so clean".
