Default Pics from Sept 3rd Willow Springs Event

Took some shots of the event but only 2 Z's showed up and one Z driver on his Varis ....

And here is Tekwon V ( Steve ) in his Z

Steve's showing off JDM shot

The Yaris and the Lotus Elise

The Yaris was driven by Jeff ( 03Z33 ) and he got great times on the car. I then went for a 3 lap race with Jeff in the Elise and let me say it was a scary ride to say the least. Jeff knows how to attack the track and the Elise is a hell of a track car not the fastest on the track but the car takes corners with little or no braking. I was in for quite a suprise almost to the piont of getting weasy in the car....

Oh wow! Looks like fun Ed. So it was your first time tracking? What are the requirements and fees associated with Willow Springs? We should have a get together one weekend there!

Thanks for the sweet pics Ed! It was great meeting you Steve!

During one of the sessions I was driving the Elise with Gio in the passenger seet, we where right behind that white Z and he went into turn 1 WAY hot and had a big off track!! was pretty sketchy but he did the right thing and took it straight into the dirt... car seemed fine. I wish we got it on video, it was pretty scary looking!

It was my first time on track with the Yaris and not the last I just hope the drivers of more expensive cars don't get too upsett about getting lapped by a $10k econo-car

I could only imagine the reaction when the Yaris passed them

I will

Almost everyone that got passed by the Yaris came up to it in the pits to see what all is done to it... I think it didn't make them feel any better that it's STOCK

The rear end starts coming around coming out of the turn onto the straight and people over correct causing them to spin out or shoot off the track

kinda off topic:

why does the s2000 have his front lip taped up? I think the taped head lights means novice but why the lip?

tape is just to protect the paint, plastic, lights, etc.. when you go off track a lot of rocks get thrown up and can damage the paint, also the sticky tires chunk up and leave black streaks that are hard to clean off.

Plus the car in front of you is gonna kick up rocks and stuff too. Since everyone is pretty much following real close and using the same line you end up with a lot of chips.

Taped up headlights means you plan on driving home in that car later

I had my car at Willow Springs back in July, and it was my first time on the track with the Z. It was a Blast. I wanna get back up there sometime. I did have a boiling issue with my Brake and power steering fluid though. Nice pics. Makes me miss the track.

Just curious, how fast do you think you get on the straights at Willow Springs?
