While everything is still sort of taken apart, maybe I should do the bypass on my D3, so I don't have to have the ebrake on to enter nav info or watch video.

definitely do the bypass! its super easy and worth it.. i dont watch movies really when i'm driving (unless my passenger wants to) but punching in addresses for navi is a lot easier when i don't have to pull up the ebrake to look for something. there's a thread somewhere with full detail on how to do it. if not, goto avic411.com!

Yeah, I've been reading avic411.com. I don't really want to watch videos either while I'm driving, but to be able to use the nav without having to park would be nice.
dude honestly just do it yourself! it's SUPER easy! prior to installing i had never hooked up any electronics in my car. i didn't even do my own sub install. but read this, it's insanely helpful with step by step pictures https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/278145-avic-d3-install-guide.html
