Well it seems like there are a lot of ways to go about setting this one up. My concern however is that doing the Buttonwillow event, while still being a great value and a very safe/fun/fast environment, is that I really want to set up an event where we can basically be all 350z's.
I realize a lot of people are concerned about "wear & tear" from an auto-x style event, but in reality I think the wear done to your tires is probably on par with what you would experience through one of our drives. When you factor in uneven pavement, gravel, banked corners, etc. the wear & tear during one of our runs is probably greater than a dozen 2 minute auto-x laps. Also a closed course might be valuable to many who are concerned about driving your car hard during out-in-public driving, where other cars & people become serious factors, as well as some of these harrowing cliffs and "near misses" that I think a lot of us have experienced. Also, a great thing about the auto-x environment is that you only go the speed that you desire without anyone pushing you from behind or out of fear of losing someone ahead of you. We set up a hundred cones, you go around the lap as quick as you like. Probably the real question is (and maybe Scott you can help answer this one), where is there an auto-x acceptable parking lot or area that we can rent out for a few hours on a Saturday morning?
I know at the Q in San Diego they run a number of different auto-x events, some for specific car clubs. I have no idea what is necessary to get permission, as well as the related liability releases, etc.
In a perfect world I'd like to find a place in North Orange County so everyone would be able to get there reasonably from any other point in Southern California. But if we could rent out the quarter of the Q parking lot, what would that require? Is there a specific auto-x organization that could "host" a my350 event? Like I said, I'll be happy to handle all of the communications, etc, I just need names.
And Iris, I doubt I'd be going home for mothers day, but many of our members have wives that are mothers so doing something on may 11th would quickly exile a handful of people that I'd rather avoid simply by planning this on a different day.
Also I'd like to thank you Scott for inviting us to the event at Buttonwillow - that July date is looking damned tempting.
Oh yeah, count me in for Vegas.

one of the better things about being a chiq is that guyz sometimes buy me lapdances. hehe. just have to make sure i get a girl who is into that - once had one that didn't, that wasn't cool, she didn't do anything or let me do anything.
that's not a hint tho, i'm a working girl, i can buy my own dances.

Man, after reading this thread and some other ones it seems that allot of my350z.com members were in Vegas just recently. I was there just last weekend for a track day at LVMS. Damn, if we only planned it, we could have had a mini meet. I'm going back to Vegas tomorrow, anyone else gonna be there this weekend? I'm staying at Caesars so I'm hoping I'll bump into Celine.

My host at the Rio casino called me yesterday and told me about their shopping event that will be held on May 16-18. So I already booked my room for that weekend. But If i go before the end of april i can pick up a gift certificate for macys so either month is good for me. just dont make it on the weekend of april 26th. i am going to the grand opening of the yard house in SD. can you say free food and drinks?

"Yeah they think if they give me a gift certificate that we will go drop a lot of money just so my wife can go shopping. (there are right)"
