Default Wanted-DIY Audio Guru's in O.C.

Just thought i would give it a shot and see if any DIY audio guru's would be willing to help me install my new headunit. Kenwood DNX7100. Especially someone who knows how to wire this thing to be able to play DVD's and have full access to the Nav while driving..............

(I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT INSTALLING A HEADUNIT)

Im located in South Orange County so anyone in OC or the surrounding area would be great.

I just would rather not spend $200.00 to have a shop install this. Or if someone wants to make a few bucks.......... make me an offer.

Like i said, just thought i would give it a shot.

thanks!!!!

do you have the wire harness?

it was my first time as well, everything's color coded. it's really more simple than you think. just sit down and look at everything. it's all pretty much common sense.

Well, i have a kenwood single din installed right now..... so im assuming i can re-use the wire harness already installed. i also have the 06 metra double din kit as well.

Mainly, im concerned about getting it to play dvd's and have full access to nav while driving....... so i was hoping i could find someone that knows how to do this........

Hey Tech,

Want to do mine after you install yours

On another note, how do you plan on doing your ipod set-up? i recall seeing a picture of youre interior and i believe you had your ipod on the side of the stereo in the passenger foot well.... ( Sorry, best i could describe it) And you had your garmin portable nav in the cubby.......

i think i would like to have the Ipod sitting in the cubby on my set-up but wondering about other ideas......

I'm sure we could work out something.

Yes, my Ipod is clipped on the passenger side footwell panel. Yes, the Nuvi 660 is in the cubby right now, although I am taking that out and putting in the Farenheit screen when the radio gets here.
