Ha... thats exactly what I did. I start work at 6am get out at 2:30pm. Takes me 30 minutes from long beach to culver city. I was working the 9-6 before and it took me 1&1/2 hours each way before, sometimes longer. I was really stressed out from it.

You'll be fine. Any MT car has to deal with the same thing in stop-and-go bumper-to-bumper traffic (would be a shame to get rid of the Z just because of that).

That being said, I DO have a "commuter car" as well, but it's also MT, so no difference. You'll get used to it.

Having spent 5 years up in the Bay Area, too, the bad spots down here are equivalent to how it is up in NorCal (i.e. like northbound 101 in the evening from Palo Alto to S.F.).

I usually just follow semi trucks on heavy traffic days. They gotta drive stick too and they usually just cruise at a slow even pace.

Still have a house there (my old childhood home), but I'm out in Anaheim Hills mostly. I go back about once a week (or once every 2 weeks).
