I think the OP is just looking for paddles on the steering wheel that will replicate the manual shift mode of the automatic. Nothing more.

I just about gave up on the paddle idea, and Justin e-mails me. How funny is that. Another guy called me a couple hours after Justin and tells me he found JDM Paddles that can be shipped from Tokyo. I'll post picks on friday when I get Z back from Aspec. Thanks Justin!

I hope this helps with the idea. A lot of the guys who got injured that love manual shifting and they can nolonger use their left leg to clutch like using these in their automatic cars.
Best of luck ZgoodLife. I hope that you post some pics soon.

What do you have to do to convert a manual transmission? Everyone has said the cost of doing this mod is cost prohibitive???

Works Bell is going to retail these Paddles for $599.00. You will need a new steering wheel ($50-300) and mounts ($190). Total Costs = $839 - $1089

I'm one of those guys who had 2 knee operations and 1 ankle surgery, so AT Tranny is a better way to go for me. I have been doing some research on AT Trannies, and Jeff at West Covina Nissan said that they are working on a beefed up AT Tranny (1k HP?)that would replace the stock AT, and the cost wouldnt be that great as converting to manual.

If that can happen, I'll upgrade the torque converter, and I wont have to worry as much about the Tranny.

Sorry, but I'm not a mechanic or a Tech guy, so I dont remember the type and specs of the tranny Jeff was talking about.

No, I have a manual now, and was thinking about going to paddles, so I do not have to do heel toe, but my question still stands about blipping the transmission if you are at the track? How do you do it with this setup?

Yeah, Logan called me earlier and said everything went smoothly. Can't wait to see the final product in person.

Default Tranny work

Basicly for the automatics that have the shift over to manually shift through the gears. Up and down. It does not allow the tranny to shift into reverse or park. You have to bring the shifter back into auto mode. For manual transmissions, the best I have seen is the Holinger with a paddle integrated shifter. That way you dont have to take your hands off the steering wheel to shift the sequencial tanny. Ofcourse the Holinger costs start at $10,000 US.
Tehy make conversion kits for the Evo 6&7, Subaru WRX 4,5&6, and Porsche Gt3 966. Here is the GT-R tranny
I'm still waiting to see what else comes out for the VQ.

PADDLES ON!!!

All I have to do is flip to AT manual mode, and paddles are active.

Aspec is going to post their pics and Vid somewhere on this site.

Its very responsive, and I like them.
Having 2 hands on the wheel makes maneuvering much easier, and
not having to look down at all, allows me to see everything around me.

Aspec told me that instalation was fairly simple, and the kit includes a new harness. Almost like plug and play, and you do need a new steering wheel.

These paddles just coincides with the manual shifter. You can use the paddles or the shifter.

Definitely worth it in my mind.

Bell Works will have a thread with Pics and Vids shot by a professional.
I took these with my phone. Sorry. I have to sign up with Photobucket, so I can upload larger pics. I'll try to get better pic up tomorrow.
