I dont know if anyone else has seen this, but I couldnt believe it when i saw a CAMARO highway patrol car on the 405S near Howard Hughes/LAX area. From the front, there no way you can tell. The sides are marked similar to other highway patrol cars. The siren lights are in a clear casing instead of the red and blue, so from afar, its completely invisible. At first, i was like, is that **** real?? Then, when he pulled someone over for crossing into the carpool lane, i was like ooooohh ****. That is for real!! So just be careful out there. You can no longer look in your rear view mirror and look for the Taurus-like ambers in the headlights. You have been warned. This will self-destruct in 20 sec.

 

The CHP have had those for awhile.

 

Dude, they were buying all of these cars to hook up as unmarked vehicles. They got 2 vans, some camry's, 4 taxi's and even a cop car.

 

Yup.. see them all the time near cal poly pomona on the 10 freeway

 

In FL, I have seen supercharged camaros, newer Mustang SVT?, When I was in college, there was an accident that happened on Interstate 4 westbound... A FHP camaro was chasing a lambo and ducati because they were apparently racing, and he lost his life because he was trying to switch lanes and his rear end tapped the Audi in the right lane, he spun out and hit a tree at 80+ mph. It happened about 5 minutes before me and my friends passed by, everyone came to a stop. It was pretty crazy, I duno why he tried chasing a lambo and ducati... last I heard the guy with the bike was being charged with vehicular homicide? .. crazy stuff.

 

That really gets my goat. The police officer was executing a dangerous manuever at high speed in a car that obviously couldn't handle it. He should have known (and probably did know) that he shouldn't have tried to catch up to one of the fastest cars in the world and one of the fastests bikes in the world that were racing at the time. But instead of just letting the cars pass and calling ahead, he tried to catch them endangering his life and the lives of innocent drivers in the process even more than the racing car and bike.

It's very sad that the officer died, and may he rest in peace, but there is no need to ruin another life by sending someone to prison for a serious crime when it could have easily been avoided. If the story is how you described it, the officer was equally reckless.

 

A couple years ago i saw a 350z cop car in Puente Hills. I don't think it was a daily used patrol car but more of one of those publicity cop cars that they bring to shows and what not.

and yeah, saw the camaro CHP in Chino a couple years ago as well.

 

the camaros are usually used for stopping commercial vehicles. my friends uncle is a state trooper in nevada, his cop car is a vette

 

Here in NV they use Camaro SS, Vettes, and some other cars. They are used as high speed chase vehicles out in the deserts on the desolate highways. They are also for commercial trucks, but NHP mainly uses Chevy Silverados for that job.

 

I ususally see them on the 15 N towards Vegas. I saw him chase another Camaro as both them fly by me coming home from Vegas a few weeks back

ive seen a 1998 accord, the white camaro, and usually cruisers as CHP

in glendale ive seen a lowered red integra/ dodge charger/ an accord for glendale PD

yeah just becareful and dont drive like an *** and you should be aiite...

but honestly having a fixed up Z is a pretty bad target as well so in so. cal tuning cars comes with a price

 

just drive faster than the camaro

 

lol. or the charger? yeah but in 5 minutes.. ur gonna have a chopper on your butt... ditch the helicopter too? hit NOS and go 300MPh? lol
