We're currently in the process of testing a production version of the Infiniti G37 (6spd manual transmission). We've scheduled 2 exclusive sneak peeks for our readers, teaming up with: Stillen and Everything G35. We’ll be at Stillen (3176 Airway Ave, Costa Mesa, CA) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 9. Then we’re conducting a long-distance road test all the way to Scottsdale, AZ, where we’ll showcase the car at Infiniti of Scottsdale (6910 E McDowell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ) on Wednesday, June 13 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

I went down to the debut of the 2008 Infinity G37S. It was pretty sweet. I also met up with Nathan (JDM21BMX) and his friend Jesus. Also met a few other cool peeps from the so cal area, "solarorange" and "vestax350" on the my350z site.

Yes it is the 07 GT that Jesus and I drove to west covina in. 2007 is the first year it was offered in that color scheme and let me say Jesus made a wise choice. I was actually impressed on how much attention his car got, we even had people ask to sit in it. We had just drove up from west covina nissan with a fresh new set of stillen intakes and a new nismo exhaust. I had a fun time seeing all the vehicles and meeting some socal peeps from the board.
I would like to first off state this is my opinion and yes like an a-hole everyone has one so let me state mine 8).
My First impression of the G37 consisted of a lot of head scratching. The re design came in the form of a sedan styling, Now the car in person has the feel of the coupe however the body lines as well as the trunk seem to have a sedan flow with high lines and a flat deck out rear, rather than a hatch itself. I do love the re design of the front end as it has high flowing fenders to round out the front rather than make room for the new engine bye adding a bump.
The interior styling of the G37 gives you the luxurious feel that Infiniti has to offer, incorporating features such as a push button start, hands free key fob functions. Navigation looked similar to that found on the 2007 Z33 so no surprises there. The rear seating looked like it added a couple of inches to leg room which is good considering only kids fit back there so less complaining from them. To sum up the interior I would say compared to a new z33 I would really have to want a luxury theme rather than a race inspired theme of raw power. I obviously see where the big price difference takes place in the two lines.
Now on to my favorite part, the performance. The engine of the G37 is an obvious upgrade from the HR as it is apparent in the hype and various dyno videos floating around youtube.com. I personally did not have a hands on experience driving the vehicle, I did hear it rev and was not surprised at all bye the quiet roar this engine has, this vehicle is aimed at the likes of IS250's and 335's. The wheels on the vehicle are similar in styling as you would find on the new IS Lexus line. The brakes are similar to what you would find on your grand touring Z33 4 piston up front and 2 pistons out rear, just lacking the beautiful bronze color and red Brembo embroidery. As for the performance I can only note on what I could see and hear, the long awaited behind the wheel experience will have to wait.
All in all a very nice vehicle that will have a lot of potential, but like anything in that price range it will include stiff competition. I personally do not see very many enthusiasts waiting to sign up for the G37 as they did for the g35. I believe the days of the race inspired G coupes are numbered. With a price range in the mid fifty’s I believe a lot more people will weigh there options.

Price range in the mid-50s? Where did you get this information from? If this price range is true, there is no way this car is aimed at the IS250 and 335s. For $50K, I want an M3 killer
