Default Ricer Math

i was browsing through the racing section in club lexus and this guy says his accord has 240hp, and if he puts in 93 octane he gets another 10 hp. and with his AEM intake he gets another 20 hp!!!! WHOA WTF!!! thats a mean intake.

so in theory, he thinks he has 270+ hp.

check out the post in club lexus.

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280867

i thought lexus owners were more refined than that.

haha sorry richy. go register, takes less than a minute.

he talks about a "special knock sensor" that gives him 10 extra hp if he uses 93 octane. i never heard of that in the accord. is that true?

I think you would be somewhat suprised. I have an 03 Accord 5sp Auto and its not a slow car. It comes stock with 240hp and the manual says if you run 93 Octane the Knock Sensor will recalibrate for an extra 10hp and I have an AEM v2 intake which is dyno proven for like 20 wheel hp at its peak. So "theoretically" at the crank the car is making 270+hp. The one thing I really like about the Accord is how much more responsive the throttle is compared to my GS430. The 430 just seems lazy whereas the Accord's throttle feels somewhat athletic (suprising I know). One of these days I would like to line my cars up and see the outcome

Nice. I hope he enjoys his athletic 270 hp Accord.

He needs to put his athletic accord on a dyno, and then he will be surprised how much power his accord is making.

yea the athletic accord has to be filled with 93 octane gas though, or else the extra 10 hp won't be unleashed!!

no wonder crazy ricers here always try to race me. 240 hp accord, plus 10 hp from gas plus 10 from AEM pulleys plus 20 hp from the AEM intake, plus 20 from the DC sports exhaust plus 20 hp from the DC headers = athletic 320 hp v6 accord

If the car were a RSX, we would not be having this discussion.

First of all the post was started by an LS400 owner talking about smoking an accord -- second of all the reply to that post you are refering to was made by someone with a honda who doesn't even own a lexus.

As a longtime member of clublexus and GS400 owner - most of the guys really know their **** or just throw as much money as they can at someone else untill their cars have the looks and performance they want.

Lots of nice, knoledgable people over there at Clublexus.com

anybody have other examples, do we have ricer math on my350z? i remember seeing a few examples a while back. post it here if you find it.

ricer math is just for a good laugh, nothing more, we're not hating on the cars, just the people that think intake and premium gas gives 30 hp.

i am a member of club lexus as well so don't think i'm hating on CL.

So if I install a turbonator which adds 52whp, and a ebay intake which adds 24whp, and some APC stickers which give about 122whp. I should be around the 600 engine hp area.

Hmm.... Do I hear Z06 killer? lmao
