Default Not so satisfied...

Went to WCN last Thursday to get an oil change, start the consumption test, and get the rear axle clicking noise taken care of. Oil change went fine. I was told to come back after 700 miles for the first part of the test (I thought that it was usually 1000 miles). As for the rear clicking, they told me that the clicking was coming from the front of the car and that it had to do with a non oem part on my calipers. I thought about it and it seemed weird that they were able to come up with that conclusion without having taken off my wheels (I have McGards on there so they wouldve had to ask me where the lug keys were). Not sure if it was because it was the end of the day but needless to say I left there unsatisfied. I dont think that they marked my dipstick either for the test. WCN had always taken care of me in the past (thats why I drive 2hrs to get there in LA traffic) so I hope Frank can come through with some answers as to what happened this time around.

My faith in WCN is not completely lost but this last time makes me think twice.

are you sure they check the oil and dont completely drain it? And why would they have to mark it if it was completely on full? What is the non oem part on your calipers? If you were unsatisfied why didnt you say so before you left?

Hey guys,

What ever engine you get put in be sure to dyno before and after.
It would be interesting to see how the newly designed, oil leak free, engine does on the dyno.

Just thought that marking it was what all dealerships did (after reading other posts on the board) but I guess not. Not sure what the non oem part on the calipers was because I was sure that everything was right up front (never messed with the calipers myself but I did buy it used so who knows / I'm gonna go get a second opinion from Precision Z). I'm sure that the axle clicking is coming from the rear and I just think that since it was nearing the end of the day, the person working on my car didnt want to deal with it. I couldnt really say anything since everyone had gone home for the day. I just think that if they tell me that its something with the front calipers, they couldve at least taken the wheels off to give me some assurance that they made an effort to actually diagnose the problem. Ive only had good things to say about WCN but this last visit has me comparing them to Universal City Nissan.

Still no news on the "new" engine. Nissan has delayed it for some unknown reason. If your car is an oil burner, we are still happy to put in the old style motor.

Best thing would be to bring her to me... if that wont work, drop by your local dealer and have them do a "consumption test". This whole thing will depend on your dealers interpretition of the results.

so if we get our motors replaced right now... when the new motor comes out are we still eligible to get the new motor even though we already had an engine swap? cuz my engine is eating oil even more now

Yes, IF your new motor starts burning oil, and you are still under warranty, you would get another motor. Nissan would want us to document the heck of it, but if it's bad it gets replaced.

What if you follow 5K mile intervals between synthetic changes. Would warranty become an issue?

so would it be better to just keep topping off the oil and wait til the new motor comes out?

Not sure how to answer that. We don't have too much info on the new motors yet, other than they will be running some kind of cast piston rings that will allow them to seat better. We will see.
