I used to have a 300ZX and it's key was sporty and nice looking.
I am proud of having my 350Z but this key is bugging me! this is soooo ordinary!

What do you guys think?

I agree. There was Zero thought put into it.

 

I would've like something smaller; sleeker. And, yes, less ordinary.

 

I like the JDM one which has the remote access buttons built into the key.

when I got my keys for the Z I was disappointed.

I was hoping for keys like the Lexus LS430 with an integrated key fob stuff and a big Z.

I think we should make our own.

The key sucks. But the alarm remote blows chunks man!!! That thing should double as a cell phone.

I always had complements for my 300ZX keys and I don't really like my keys look like Altima's!

it's all about cost cut and max. profit per sales.

 

Does anyone know if we can use the JDM keys? Is there some security code recognition between the car and key or can I just bring one back from Japan and have it cut for my 350? I can't stand my 350 key. It looks like a key from a rental car. My 300ZX titanium key was much nicer.

 

nismo makes a blank key that you can get cut. Its not much better, but it certainly isn't worse.

The good ol days, when Titanium keys were offered for the Z...

 

When I went to Japan, I ran out of time to try and get a JDM key, but if you had an aftermarket alarm system that had an immobilizer bypass, then you could buy the nismo key. I have a few pics in the gallery with the standard NISMO and GTR keys.

 

I agre so disapointed with the keys, Wish there was a way to get the JDM keys instead. Such a let down when even a damn jetta has a better looking key.

 

I have a hard time differentiating my Z key and Altima key. They look exactly identical even the remoteless entry keyfob.

 

my infiniti fob even looks the same
