Default Need Good Lexus/Toyota Repair Place in SoCal

My friend has a 2000 Lexus GS300 with over 95k miles... it needs some repairs/maintenance but the dealer is trying to take him for a ride and charge over $3000 worth of parts and crap that (for the most part) is a rediculous mark up.

I think the dealer is Cerritos Lexus

He got a CEL the other day, we scanned it and it was O2 sensor. I found O2 sensors online and they are like no more than $150, but they tried to charge him $373 parts and labor.

Ball joints, left and right, found online for $70 each, the dealer wants $600 parts & labor. They said the ball joints are "completely shot" ... I don't even know what that means.

They also basically tried to charge $250 for air induction cleaning, which I'm sure is just spraying carb cleaner on the throttle body

So whoever has a lexus, and knows a good repair place... please help out my friend,

TIA!!

Try Luxury motorworks in monrovia. I've used them before, but that was some time ago. Cheaper than the dealer from what I remember.

Check a lexus forum.

Mike, all the Lexus dealers charge an arm and a leg for service. Crooks wanted over $800 for a 30k service on our RX (which is just basically replacing all the fluids). We ended up taking it to Corner 3 and were very happy with the service and the price.
