Default Magic Mountain attendance thread

Please post here if you plan on attending the Magic Mountain meet (Thursday June 12th). If you don't post that you'll be attending here, then you won't be able to take advantage of the sweet hookup that Grayfox has so kindly offered, so speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Thank you, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

please add a final date to which we must submit our names by to take advantage of the discounted rate.

I for one have to go out of town for about ten days and will not be getting back till June 1 or 2. After a day or two of catch up at work I will then know if I will be able to attend.

Thanks.

Mike and I are in.

Kaiser, you should post a link to this from your other thread - I know rouxeny was asking me about whether MMM was still going on.

Hi Southern Cal, this is Northern Cal. I am bringing my 17 year old nephew down to Magic Mountain for his graduation and couldn't figure out a good date to go. June 12th sounds great. Have a few questions. We are planning to spend a few days.
1. Is it possible to go on all the coasters in one day?
2. What hotel would you recommend?
3. Is there any golf courses close by, and would anybody like to play a round?
4. I can get discounted tickets that includes the water park, is the water park worth going to?

Hey, the more the merrier! Ok, I'll try to answer your questions:

yes, esp'lly on a weekday which we will be going on.

2. What hotel would you recommend?

Depends on where else you are going in SoCal. Valencia, where MM is, is sort of in the middle of nowhere. It might be better to stay somewhere more in the thick of things (just anywhere in Los Angeles or South Bay by the airport would be more central to things).

3. Is there any golf courses close by, and would anybody like to play a round?

sorry, don't know.

4. I can get discounted tickets that includes the water park, is the water park worth going to?
I've never been, but I have NOT heard that it sucks, so I'm sure it's fun. Although you would have to do it on a 2nd day -- too much to do everything in one day.

Thanks Iris. I'll probably stay right in Valencia. We have no other plans except MM and hopefully a round of golf. Probably come down early Wednesday and play golf, MM on Thursday, maybe the water slides early Friday and leave Friday afternoon.

zzzyaaa:

Used to live in Valencia.

There is a Hilton Hotel just off the 5 at Magic Mountin Parkway.

There is a golf course also, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. it is a nice one, the Nissan open was there a few years ago...

Everyone who wants to go to MM, make sure you post here soon. Grayfox said she wanted to get the tickets a week ahead, so that's coming up very quickly.

So far (based on THIS thread, NOT the first magic mountain thread), the list is:

1. Grayfox
2. Iris & Mike
3. Kaiser
4. rouxeny

zzzyaaa, are you definitely going to be coming? How many tickets do you need?

Anyone else who plans to go, speak now, or forever hold your $45 ticket instead if you end up going.

Not on the weekdays (hopefully). Yes, if you're going on a weekend.

Think I'm all set. Gonna play golf at Robinson Ranch. It's in Santa Clarita so I'm staying at the Santa Clarita Hotel. It's about 3 miles from MM.
So, am I the old fart here at 51?

Default So we are all set at 8 people:

1. Grayfox
2. Iris & Mike
3. Kaiser
4. rouxeny
5. Mr B
6. zzzyaaa & nephew

Ok, to get everybody excited (but worried), this is what somebody posted about X from another thread - the line might be long. But hey, with the new coaster Scream, maybe that will give the crowds another distraction and help on the wait a little bit.

Hey iris..if you haven't already....you ABSOLUTELY have to check out "X" at Magic Mountain. Make sure you line up for that one first cuz the last time I went I was in line for like 5 hours.

I've ridden dozens of roller coasters and that one nearly made me **** my pants. Don't be decieved by it's size...most rollercoasters are huge but you go forward..and know where you're going.

"X" HOWEVER: is a totally unpredictable ride because it has this suspended (don't know where the hell you're going to spin next) contraption type thing so like you think you're ok and know where you're heading but the next thing you know...you're going at a ninety degree angle backwards.

Unless you like to free fall back on your chair on a daily basis, X should do it for ya.
can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so final head count for people who need tickets is:

1. Grayfox
2. Iris & Mike
3. Kaiser
4. rouxeny
5. Mr B

If anyone else wants to come along, and wants discounted tickets, speak up now. Grayfox, are we pretty much all set?

I figure we should pick a place to meet in the valley, somewhere near the 101/405 merge would probably be good, so we can caravan up there. Iris, any suggestions? I don't know that area at all.
