yay! Z people coming to SB
ok here is the deal: The famous Santa Barbara halloween shenanigans have already begun. The craziest area is in Isla Vista (IV), which is the college-neighborhood next to UCSB. It is actually in Goleta, not SB. So yeah, mapquest Del Playa, or otherwise take the Los Carneros or Glen Annie exit off the 101 and head towards the ocean-side. Now, it is REALLY hardcore with police. And its true that after a certain hour, you cannot drive into IV, you must walk. It can be a looong @ss walk if you don't know where u are going, if u want PM me and I will try to tell u where to go. There are tons of police, police on horseback and bikes, and the whole neighborhood will be fenced off with these 5 ft fences they rent just for the Halloween weekend. 330 people were arrested last year, so know your rights and don't act stupid
Otherwise, downtown SB always has a ton of special events at bars and clubs, there might be a small cover, but you can usually find free close parking, drinks are mad cheap (compared to LA or NYC where I'm used to) This all happens on lower State Street - like the 100-800 blocks, so mapquest that, and exit on garden/laguna, or castillo or cabrillo or somewhere around there to make your way to State. Good bars/clubs I go to are Couchez, Sharkeez, Q's, Indochine, Velvet Jones, Madison's, Dargan's, Wildcat Lounge, Sandbar, and the sausagefest affectionately known as Tonic.
SB is famous for Halloween, so bring your costumes and come thirsty and it will definately be happening.

oh yes, they are definately tonight.
Just park somewhere far away, and walk or take a cab. I just was in IV jogging and where I normally park on this usually empty dirt path was completely full, and I saw like 5 tow trucks in the 3 minutes I was driving in and out of IV...including one flatbedding a really nice truck! My heart broke...couldnt they just have towed a sh1tty car? I also saw that they brought in a Police Horse for some Hi Ho Silver action tonight.
I don't want to get you towed, so use your best judgement, but Ideally, I would say park on the mountain side of the 101 and take a cab into IV. Or maybe park at the In and Out off the Turnpike exit in goleta, because they have a really big lot with lot of travellers/truckers parking there, and take a cab. Or maybe by the Costco and Kmart shopping plazas on Storke and walk in...Idk might be risky but might not be.

a little parking secret: park at 477 Whitman st. in Goleta... not on the street but in the parking lots behind the building, where the residents park.. i lived there last year, and they NEVER EVER tow'd my friends.. just because the spots down the middle of the lot are not assigned to the residents, they are just guest parking spaces... AND you can walk to IV from there, its not TOO far...
i was actually planning on going there tonight with my buddies, BUT im tracking the Z at the cal speedway on sunday and need rest...
