Today 8/17 we rolled in at the Nissei Car Show at little Tokyo. For those who dont know much about this car show, its just a parking lot car show at little Tokyo here in Los Angeles. But for some strange reason the best of the best Imports come out here once a year to compete. The Judges were known for being meticulate.

Show up with some immitation rims and bodykit they will probably stone your car to death. Thats where the quality of the participants probably came from. To see it for yourslelf go to http://www.onlineshowoff.com or http://www.carandmodel.com in a few days to check out the coverage. Just give them around 2 days to post the new pics.

While we were rolling in the show we looked at all the Nissans coz these were the cars that we will be competing against - JDM Silvias, Modded and Coverted 240's were everywhere. Not to mention 3 Skylines that were there, including my friends BF Goodrich Sykline that I posted pics of in this thread a while back. We figured hey they is absolutely no way that we will win anything here. We did see 3 other Z's all from the forums Mr. B, Trust and that guy with the HKS exhaust.

In this show turbos were everywhere and Bride Seats are a dime a dozen - every car had a pair. While doing my rounds on the showgrounds my belief of the best of the best cars were there was only solidified when we found about 10 or more cars that were already featured or made as a cover on major publications such as Import Tuner or Super Street.

The day ended with my friend's Skyline winning 3rd best Nissan and 2 other Silvias won 2nd and 1st. We were like oh well if a Skyline won 3rd theres no way we could have won then! We were about to go home.

BUT NOOOO! The anouncer said "to end the day we have the best of each make awards." He continued on to say "The Nissan Showoff Award goes to a 2003 350Z!" We dunno how it happened but we won with out any force induction on the engine. In sucha demanding show thats almost impossible. We actually beat all of those Skylines and Silvias. This was the only 1st place trophy that the car won and winning it in such a show means so much! Like what some people discussed earlier at this thread the Import scene is so riced out that its so hard for clean and quality made cars to shine at shows. Fortunately in this show it was the opposite and we won the Best Overall Showoff Nissan Award and we were in total surprise.
