Default Finally happened, good paintshops in SD? Pics

First noticeable blemish on my car, not to bad though. Had to park my car in the street downtown (rare). When I get to my car I see this suv parked close to me and less than an inch away from the car in front of it. Check out my bumper, of course 2 different impact points Look at the suv and my paint is still hanging from the receiver on the trailer hitch! No note or anything on my car, filed a report and took pictures. While waiting for the cops, already 1 hr, this guy walks up to the suv. I confront him about the damage claims he didn't feel it. Got his information and contacted mine and his insurance the next day. Took it into a Vernons Autocraft today to get an estimate for the insurance, $596 plus no car for 3 days, its my DD.

Anyone have other shop recommendations in SD or know anything about Vernons? Clairemont or near by.

Thanks, had to vent a little

Other marks are from bugs and stuff, needs a good wash.

596 sound a little pricey, i'd say more like 400 (bout 300 to paint a front bumper). I guess 100 to fix the indention.

That sucks bro. I'm currently residing in San Diego as well and some ***** bag that couldn't park in my complex scuffed my front bumper as well. I'm going to be driving about an hour and twenty minutes to a very well known shop to have them do my car. Remember, for these paint jobs, you get for what you pay for. The body shop i'm going to is called 2020autobody tech. Check out their website for some of the work they've done. I knows it's pretty far away, but if you can get a rental, I think it's worth it.

His insurance should be picking up the bill, so price doesn't really bother me.

Checked it out. I would take it there, a tad to far for me to justify gas and time though.

Thanks for the replies.

Any shops in SD that anyone has used and liked?

That sounds about right. Dont forget it is PPW paint, 3 step process. When i had my other front end painted it was about 760, included touch up sanding.
