Curious John, does more pts equal better? For the longest time I was leaning towards the Cusco but hearing your opinion, I am a bit more open towards custom now.

I have a few VERY qualified "cage craftsman" fabricators at my disposal, let me know if you need any work done.

More points doesn't necessarily mean better, more points will provide additional strength/rigidity and increase chassis stability/handling. On the other hand the weight of a 5-6pt cage will be considerably less than a 16pt cage.

When choosing your cage design, points, material, etc...you need to research the requirements and regulations of the racing organization/event you will be competing in; i.e. IDRC, NHRA, SCCA, NASA, NOPI, etc...

that question would all depend, how many points and of course you get what you pay for. I would go to a reputable cage source who has probably had experience in making cages for some type of competitive motorsport and depending on which motorsports you would be getting into such as time attack/super lap battle, drifting , or drag.

of course how serious you would be getting into that motorsport there are certain safety regulations you would need to comply with.

my buddy Rick's cage is done with such quality and precision. Louie of L-Con who is reputable for cage-making is on this forum as well. He's responsible for this work of art. I was able to see this cage in person when they were making it, they take their time and do an awesome job.

Thanks DSport G35, I am going to see cage is suitable for the organization I am in.

Man I love Rick's Cage. So many places to hang my clothes and my ties.

DSport, where did you get your cage done? can anyone lead me in the right direction for the so cal area? i need to meet NASA regs for the cage, seat, and harness mounting points. if i can get away with just getting a harness bar made, i could go that route as well.

Technosquare was on my initial prospective list as far as cage builders go and they are good, but I think LCON is on a higher level. I waited over a year and half searching before I decided on who to choose to build my cage. The precision and attention to detail is far greater than what I have seen others do. Just look at the other cages that are in other Z's to compare.
