I heard last year that Autobacs was coming. Today as i was driving in Garden Grove, i saw a new store under construction and i was like, "oh **** its here." The place is big...not quite the size of a Best Buy but certainly dwarfs any established performance shops in terms of size. Brand new building and install bays. For those of you who don't know...Autobacs is the largest chain store in Japan for the aftermarket and premier sponsor of the All Japan Grand Touring Championship.

Took an interior shot from the outside glass doors. Looks like 2 stories but the 2nd floor may be for offices.

WOW they finally decided to come.

They were interesting in coming over in the late 80's but nothing panned out.

I remember that b/c they were looking for some investment and some private label wheels.

It cool though.. I need to move to OC to be closer to this stuff.

no idea...no posted sign of opening either...just coming soon. Judging by the interior, i would hazard a guess of late summer or fall.

 

i wonder why garden grove (not that i mind, im there alot).
and i wonder if it has any connection to the JGTC racing here next year.

Autobacs is grand opening is the mid july. My friend told me but I can't remember what the exact date is. He will be showing his car at the opening so this is a reliable source
