Hey guys, I just got my Nardi 330 deep corn suede steering wheel (black with red stiching), works bell short hub and a works bell rapfix 2 quick release today from Andy @ performance. Im going to be installing it tomarrow ( Sunday ) and im sure I could figure it out by following the DIY's provided but Im already kinda confused about some stuff and I havent even started. Id hate to remove my stock wheel and be stuck.

Anyone free want to come out and help me do this install. Im sure it would go alot faster... and Id feel more confident .

there is a pretty good DIY some where on here. I have to see if I can find it. It's really not that hard of a install. The hardest part are the airbag bolts

I did my install Is easy "But" you must make sure you put the hub back on the right way, or the slip light comes on.

It helps if you have someone hold the stock collar after you take the wheel off so it doesn't spin around...And I woud def recommmend a socket setup
w/ a dif torque bolt attachment - that allen wrench they include is teh gay.

 

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I seriously cannot work on my car without something going wrong. So I went to my brothers work and picked up the T30 torx bit in order to take out the two anti tampering screws. One comes right off and the other of course is already stripped !!!! I then persisted to try everything to get it off... of course only making it worse. Now im going to have to take it to a shop to get it off, then I will have to have them complete the install since I cant drive the car home without a steering wheel. Now it will cost me money to do what should have been an easy DIY. Im so frustrated!

Im not good enough nor confident enough with tools to try to drill it out or whatever. Anyone have any ideas ???? The space you have is sooo small that I cant really get any other types of tools in there to loosen the bolt.

 

This side came out just fine.

The other side is not budging.. stripped as hell.

 

Damn, that sucks...I want to do my steering wheel too, but I'm gonna wait until I get new seats and harnesses for safety reasons.

Mine seemed stripped as well...just jam that lame tool WB provides in there and hold the base w/ a wrench and push and turn as hard as you can...you'll get it.

 

Naw man, its not that mine wont turn. Mine is so messed up that the tool becomes irrelevant. It just spins around and around not bitting on anything... like the bolt has been "hollowed out" or something. The whole inside of that bolt is shredded up. : (

 

Ryan, is there enough room to drill it out for an e-z-out?

Looks like Im going to have to take it to the shop tom morning. There gana laugh when they see how demolished this bolt is.

 

So my tuner shop couldn't do it today. I bring it to OC nissan ( which I never go to ) just because its near my house. They want $105 minimum just for looking at the stripped bolt. ITS JUST A STRIPPED BOLT !!!!. Its amazing how much better West Covina nissan and Performance nissan are compared to the rest of the dealerships. I spent over a thousand dollars two days ago at the nissan dealership and they cant even take care of a frekin stripped bolt for me. Not to mention the thousands of dollars Ive spent in the recent past... nor including the cost of my frekin car from nissan when I bought it !!! ahhh Im really frustrated. I wish I lived closer to West Co. or Performance..... the drive is always worth it tho.

I'd drive there than....no sense in wasting extra $...plus i've heard nothing but good things out of either of those two places!

 

Part of the reason it's so hard to get out is cause of the threadlocker that they use when the bolts are installed. Nissan could have used a different type of tamper proof screws without having to use a Torx bit that can mess up the head easily.

ahhhh well Im going to call Andy today and hope they will get it out for me at Performance Nissan if I drive all the way up there. I bought all the parts from him so Im sure he wont have a problem with that.

 

Andy @ performance came up hugge and got the problem solved for me. Stand up guy who went out of his way to help me out. Thanks again Andy !

I'll post some pics once I get the Nardi wheel installed.
