Replace the tranny. My '03 had a 5th gear grind when I bought it used with 17k miles in '05. Tranny was replaced under warranty.

the reason for this is the syncro(<-spelling) for your 5th gear is messed up and will not align properly you need to rebuild your tranny or take it to the dealer and say hey wtf hahaha. either way you need new tranny. a lot of people will say to change the fluid first but if it is always happening you might as well just change the tranny.

Shifter fork is jacked up.

People need to remember to service the trans fluid along with the rear diff it's just as important as changing the oil.
