Default Good Body Shop in Southern Calif ???

Hey guys,
Was totally unlucky last night when on the I-110 a truck in front of me dropped an unsecured crate box (made of wood) and I ran over it. The damage isn’t as bad as I thought, but there’s a deep scratch on the bottom passenger side of the bumper about 3 inches long (the car's color is white and the scratch has peeled & inside of it is black). Anyways, I don’t think touch up paint will do the trick (the scratch is too deep) and it’s not worth it to buy a new bumper. Does anyone know of any reputable body shops that can fix this in the southern California area. I’m hoping while I’m there I can get rid of some of those paint chips that everyone else here has been getting. Thanks.

Marco's Autoboy repair in San Gabriel CA is one of the best. But they are more expensive then their competitors. So if your insurance is paying for it..then take it there.

shops in So Cal that i would avoid: Holmes Autorepair
years ago, i had my BMW in for a fender bender. apparently, one of my engine mount was broken. When i pick up the car after repair, the service dept tried to tell me that it is normal for my car to "shake like that" when i start the engine. They suck. (just my experience)

they do alot of modified cars... they are quite popular with the maxima guys.

ask for John Lee

they do auto->5spd conversions, turbo installs, supercharger installs. and general maintenence and body repairs.

Ive been to Body Pros many times and why I keep coming back is beyond me. They use very cheap paint and they never get cars done on time. They do a half *** job on their work and youll have to go back to get it done right.

I really like wet works garage alot better. www.wetworksgarage.com. They do a great job and Joe the owner dosent use cheap *** paint.

Perfect color match without blending.

If you think BodyPros uses cheap paint you know nothing about paint, bodypros uses glasurit paint which is top of the line paint used on porsches and ferraris. How in the world can you call glasurit cheap paint...

EDIT: I just checked with wetworks, they use PPG paint, which isnt nearly as good as Glasurit.

Last time I was in there they were using sickens paint. That waht they said work the best for them this was in march.

For one my body kit wasnt prepped right the edges were not sanded and cracked. The cracks then just got paited over and were ignored in the pait booth and them further when mouting the kit on my car (they had to nicie).

The wing also had alot of overspray on it. The wing too when I hand waxed it the paint rubbed off on the edges (quality paint does not do that).

I took it to Wet Works to get it redone becouse Im sure i was in for excuses from body pros and didnt want to waste time again.

Wet works told me straight up said it was shi**y paint. It had a sick chemical reaction when it was repainted by wet works. If it was sickens or any other good brand (like glasurit) it would have not wrinked.

I know Wally and Derick really well they are cool guys but they are always rushing and cutting corners. Im not going to ever recomend them or go back. Its the same story I been though it so has a few of my friends that recomended to go there.

There a lot of people like myself that had many problems with body pros. I just letting everyone know. They are not the best and i know what quality is.

I been in this indusrty now for 4 years. I really know paint and bodykits.

I've been in this industry 7 years, and i can tell you for a fact bodypros used to use sikkens paint (which is great paint), and now they use glasurit, or are actually in the process of switching to glasurit. I've never had one problem with bodypros, and all the cars ive seen come from them are high quality...i called wetworks and spoke with joe, and lets just say he was very rude. He told me that 90% of japanese kits are pieces of ****, and that he wouldnt even paint or deal with my top secret kit, insisting that hes workd on topsecret kits before and that they suck, which is not true at all....topsecret kits fit like factory. Of course wetworks is gonna talk **** about another body shop, theyre competition....but after speaking with joe from wetworks, I would never take my car there for hte simple fact hes too arrogant and made it clear to me he didnt want my business, or even anything to do with bodykits made in japan. As far as your experience with bodypros, all i can possibly think of is that you did something to **** off wally or derek, because ive never heard of one car having that kind of problems you had.

Matix- I know you a good guy and Im sure you know you stuff well in this industry. Im dissipointed in Body Pros work, and Im just letting other people know from my recent experiece with them.

Derick and Wally do shoddy work when they are rushed.
I have another example on how they buchered my car.

Another thing they did to my car is they used a screw driver to take off my factory spoiler and scratched and dented my hatch. Then they slaped the new spoiler over it to hide it. You just dont do these things to customers.

Ask around alot of guys other then me have been burned the proof is in the pudding. Try posting on www.newcelica.org theres a slew of peeps that goten shddy work done from them.

How long have you been a customer of Body Pro's by the way? I know they rolled your fenders but have you had any paint work done?

Joe from Wet Works is a good guy hes not a basher of other shops. Body Pros and wet work have worked on many industrty cars together. They both have bussiness coming out of their anuses and are not in direct competition.

First of all I didnt even tell Joe that Body Pros painted my kit. straight up Joe told me the paint used on my kit was crappy.

I told him Body Pros did the work and they use sicken paint. He told me there is no f-ing way this is sicken paint. It wouldnt wrinkle like that did or rub off when its waxed.

Your right Wet Works is picky on what kind of kits they work on, and so is Body Pros. Joe can be rude so can Derick and Wally. Ive seen both Derick and wally them get into it with customers and make alot of racist remarks.

Im not going to have a flame war over this. Im just wanning poeple on my experiece with them.

I dont want people to waste their money like I did. I had to fix Body pros mistakes and it was a waste for me in time and money. I had to pay someone else to do it right.

This hobby is not cheap and their alot of shady sh*t that goes on. Im just bringing my experience to the table.

If Derick and Wally hold gruges and do bad work for long time customers then thats bad business in itself. They are paid to do a good job no matter what kind of car, kit, or person that they agree to do work for.

I'm surprised that wetworks even worked on your car assuming you hvae a japanese kit, since joe himself told me "90% of kits made in asia are pieces of ****", and he wont work on em. In my experience, most bodyshop guys are kinda weird anyways ( I think its the fumes), but wally has done more on my car besides rollling my fenders, he painted prolly half the car, and it came out perfect. Wally always was super nice, (not a lying ***** like Joe seemed to be off hte bat), and I've neve had one problem or half-*** job done on my car by him. Anyways, no need to argue over other peoples businesses, since it doesnt benefit you or I in the long run. By the way, what kit do you have on your car anyways??

p.s. Derek doesnt work at bodypros anymore

deng guys.. calm down!

im sure both body shops are good in what they do, if they have the adequate time and space to do so..
but id have to aggree with Red6

Body pros jacked my friend's maxima up. took him nearly two monthes for him to get his car back, and they still missed a few spots on the car...

when we were supposed to go pick up the car, there was this fat guy eating a burger, sitting on the hood.. i mean.. it was funny as hell, but when you tell a customer to come get the car, its not cool if your workers are sitting on it, and to top if off, the car wasnt even washed or ready to go when he arrived... (ZTYmax, Alex from Team Yossi from nor cal was his name)

just be careful colin. i know they can be really excited n stuff sometimes, but people say stuff and dont mean half of it when the time comes.

When someone hit my car, I had to get the whole side of the car painted. Bodypros had the car finished in 4 days, and it was perfect, no missed spots, no fatguy eatin a burger on my hood ...every experience i've had with wally has been top notch, so I feel 100% confident taking my car to him, as far as wetworksgarage as reccomended by red6, i actually gave them a chance to see what kind of shop they were, but from the first phone call with Joe, he made it clear to me he didnt want my business, and proceeded to call my body kit a piece of **** without ever even looking at it. Anyways, i'm tired of defending bodypros and tired of knocking other shops, so to each his own, and take your car to the shop who you personally feel comfortable with. Peace.
