help/suggestions
The time has come, I will be making the move into the LA area in the coming months from SF Bay area and I am unfortunately clueless when it comes to the LA area.
I am starting to look at apartments and condos but I realize I do not know much about the areas, and I would rather not end up in a sketchy area just because I found a good deal.
Are there any specific areas you would suggest I start looking, or perhaps more importantly, are there any areas you suggest I avoid?
I am young (24) so it would be nice to be near fun areas that I could have a bit of a social life.
Thanks much in advance for any help / insight offered

Some of the places are money though. Like West LA good locations, lots of mid and high end retailers/restaurants. Rent starts at 1700 for a small 2 bedroom. My buddy picked up a nice town home a couple of years ago for $800K and luckily the housing market hasn't affected him as much and still maintains the value over $1.1
thanks much for the help, means a lot.
nismo33 thanks for the PM, I will get back to you with details soon.
My cap is $1300 /month (give or take), that should help dictate the area...
