Default Ticket for no front plate by Meter Maid

In three days Ive gotten two tickets while my Z has been parked right infront of my house for not having a front plate. Both are for $25. I was jsut wondering if anyone has ever contested one of these. Maybe if I contest it and send in proof of correction they will waive the fine? I hate meter maids!

You have a meter in front of your house? You must live in the city or something? Or do these maids go through neighborhoods too?

Hang a plate on your car when you park it in front of your house and pull it off when you go out driving.

What possible defense would you have for not obeying the requirement to have a front license plate?

Why not just put it on? It's not that big a deal.

Yes it is. I hate the look with a front plate. I'll like the idea to hang the plate at night. I'll hang it from my tow hook.

are you sure it's not a fix-it ticket? in cali those usually are reduced to a $10 "processing" fee after you've gotten the 'violation' corrected, inspected, and signed off.

believe me, i know!

Do meter maids really have the authority to give a ticket for a violation other than, I dunno, something relating to a meter? I thought they were jsut parking enforcers? Do real cops tool around giving out citations in the middle of the night now?

As for back-to-back tickets...if its the same offense 2 days in a row...you can fight that you hadn't been able to fix the first citation before the second one was written. They need to give you a reasonable amount of time to actually correct or pay the issue.

No it isn't you are just making it a big deal. Either abide or get a ticket, simple.

I say jus zip tie it onto yer front bumper or something...that way it's not stuck on there forever and you can take it off with a snip here and a snip there...
