How much to ship Rota wheels from there? I hear you can get them dirt cheap in the Philippines. The only catch is that shipping is a *****.

Whats up pares! anyway I have done this before. I had packed 4 wheels in my luggage lol. And I think you guys know what filipinos use for their luggage. Well I had about 2 boxes big enough to carry all four wheels, 2 in each along with my clothes etc. They usualy just questions it when it goes in the x ray machine thats all. But it can be done!

...then YOU don't know my pare. Car tuning has been a cult there since the early 80s and if you ask around, there's this place in Q.C. that stretches for a mile(?) w/ nothing but car stuff. This will take the boredom out of you. Have fun!!!

whats up mga pare?

Rotas are made in the Philippines and imported here. The import car culture has been active in the Phil way way before it got famous here. Type-R engine to a Civic hatch swaps was even a common thing a little over a year after the Type-R Integra was released.

Also JDM parts are much cheaper there... if you know where to look. Go the up scale neigborhoods (Alabang and Corinthians) a full spoon Civic would be a common sight. When I was there I even saw the Ferrari F50 and Mc Larren F1 owned by this son of a politician.

Lastly in Makati at the upscale bars, you can see Ferraris, Jags and Expeditions parked like its a common thing. It makes me sad that gap of the social status there is so big. If youre poor youre really poor and if youre rich youre really rich.

Have fun there daytona. I'll be going in Makati and Olongapo in January 2004 for a wedding and to go clubbin. Have you checked out the lounge up in Pan Pacific Hotel? I heard there are many nice looking girls up in there. Maybe meet my future wife there....hahaha. jk.

This place does exist it's Banaue in Q.C. I'm home in the Phil every Dec to visit family and chill... There are so many car accesories in the Phil it's crazy.. I've seen Evo 7, S14 Sylvia, and whole bunch of other rides. I agree with BigBadBlackTrack that the social gap is pretty wide. Either you're rich or poor and there is no middle ground. It's sad to see...

Cool Hello my fellow Filipino's

I'm glad to finally hear from Filipino's out there.

So are you guys born in the Phillipines and just migrated in the states? I was born and raised in Bacara Ilocos Norte until I was about 12 then moved to Hawaii. Hawaii has a huge Filipino community. I'd like to hear from you guys.

Who's a military brat? I am. Navy brat to be specific.

Dad's from Orani. Mom's from Hermosa. I was born in Guam, quickly moved to Lemoore, then quickly moved to Hawaii. Spent my childhood in Hawaii then with all the base closures, pop's got transferred to San Diego. Been here ever since.

Hawaii's got a HUGE Filipino community. So does SD.

Guam does too.. lol.
