does anyone know how financial aid works?

i applied for FAFSA and finally was given an amount on my student account @ my school... how does that work do i await for something in the mail or go talk to the financial aid advisor at school...

im completely lost never applied for financial aid its my first time..

Just apply and money will be sent to your school into your account. If they give you extra, you can take that out to spend or be wise and save it cause you gonna need to pay them back
