Default Buttonwillow Track Event May 31st & June 1st

Speed Ventures is hosting an open track even at Buttonwillow Raceway on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st. The cost is $190 for either day or $360 for both.

I'm going to be signing up for Sunday as that day has a better chance of not filling up. (Currently 30 are signed up for Saturday and only 5 for Sunday.) It would be great if we can get some more Zs out there or Z owners with their other track cars. If there is enough interest we should also be able to get free timing transponders.

Here's a map of the track layout for the day:

The track is only two hours north of downtown LA on I-5, then left off the Lerdo Highway about a half mile. Not far at all.

Race #13 is one of the best configurations they have for competition, intense practice. Many fun challenges.

SV will rent you a helmet if you need one. Transponders too if you want that. And in car instructors if you would like as well.

There is a write up on how to drive the course, and a video, at www.nissansportmag.com

Just go to downloads, select feature articles, and then you will see the pdf for the article and the link to the video, which is race #13.

I am running Big Willow in Rosamond on the 15th, so not sure if I will make BW this time, but it is a very fun track and highly recommended.

This event is open to all levels of driver. I'll warn you though, once you track your car daily driving becomes a little boring and you may get highly addicted.

ZRs should be allowed as long as the OEM roll protection hasn't been altered.

Excellent. Add your name to the list.

Here's a link to the FAQ Speed Ventures has for new drivers. http://www.speedventures.com/faqs.aspx

Passengers are allowed, just make sure both of you have the properly rated helmet. Also bring some painters tape. Some people like to tape off parts of their car, but you also have to put numbers on your car.

Bumping this up. I'm now officially registered for Sunday. It also looks like I'll have a support vehicle with me, so I'll be bringing lots of drinks and snacks and tools. If anyone needs help bringing things up that day let me know.

fastm3, I know this event isn't on your schedule for the year, but you should come out anyways.

Hardly.

It's currently the fastest recorded time around BW #13 for a 350Z, in the country's fastest time-attack 350Z.

If you're not against purchasing a helmet you can get a great deal on HJCs from Subaru of Southbay. By great I mean $100 less then the cheapest you find online. See the subies are good for something.
