momo why would you prefer Brazilian Jujitsu? there is a Brazilian jujitsu gym like a 10 min run (2 min drive) from my house. i have been considering stopping by but for some reason since it wasn't a japanese art i wasn't too interested is it really worth training there? lemme check some youtube flicks
i been training BJJ at south coast martial art under Joe Moreira and Marcelo Carvalho, so far its been great. I have a lots of respect for the art of aikido, but it dosen't appeal to as much as BJJ.

i think i might go check out the studio down the street from my house then... does BJJ have any striking as well or is it mostly all ground game. when i took Aikido Jujitsu we also had plenty of striking. which made the sport all the more fun

the Gracie studios ARE a decent studio but the lessons are a little high per month IMO.

pretty much, there strikes are so out of control very quick and deadly. The only problem I am having with it is going from boxing to moi tai 2 different worlds everything is different.

IMO boxing is by far the strongest art out there. i just know that all hands and no ground will get you crippled pretty quick. make sure your ground game is in check.

my ground skills are horrible!!!!!! My strikes are very powerful tho i can attest to that haha I'm only 5'7 at 145 and honestly I've never even lost spars with people 6'0 and above even over 200lbs but in a true street fight where anything goes if u can be quick enough to get me 2 the ground u've already won the fight!

hahaha man i thought we talked about this at my house? maybe you were not there... i think i talked about it with nelson... cant remember.... but yea, they were going to give me community service for evading the 50 but the officer that pulled along side me testified on my behalf that i told him that i needed to get my gf home so i got off with a warning and nothing on my record dictating the incident. but it was considered deadly force and the judge said that if i ever was to see him again on these grounds he will send me upstate for a year.

free and clear tho!

Good one. You never told the outcome of this, must have told it to Nelson then. But lucky you... next time, don't break the arm... just *** the guy up a lil bit. make sure you got a few marks too so it looks more like self defense. hahaha.

LOL......good for U! If more people got their A$$ kicked there would be less a-holes running around ,but you might not want to mention you've had proper martial arts training.Trust me, judge will def hold it against you...
