just buy the hardwire cable from the company and run the wire along the headliner, down the a-pillar, and to the fuse box. takes no more than 5 minutes and requires no cutting of the homelink wires. If you can mod headlights, you can hardwire your radar.

The way I installed mine, not exactly 5 mins... takes 5 min jus to take off the a-pillar. Total install time was 35 mins.

Got the direct wire smart cord from Escort and a 8500 with Mikes mount.

End result:

I've since gotten a plastic gutter to put the wires together for a clean look

***I make trips to Las Vegas, SF and AZ and this unit has paid for itself off 8-10x over. I typically don't speed but it's those rare chances that make it worth it***

Search for "Mike's mount". Basically it looks exactly like the pictures the person above me posted. I have this in my Z as well for the V1. Mounted with Mike's mount, ran the wire up the roof and down the A pillar to the fuse box.

Well alright maybe I exaggerated a little bit. But really, I am positive I can do this in no more than 10 minutes now, having done it a few times before. Removal of the a-pillar wasn't necessary when I did it. Just pull back the trim that seals the window and you can get the wire running down the a-pillar.

Anyway, the point is, it is easy enough for the OP to do on his own. No need to pay someone else.
