That really caught me off guard watching CNN and seeing a shoe hurled at our president from an Iraqi reporter....

If I remember correctly, when a shoe is thrown at you in a Muslim society, its representation that you are looked upon as lower than the dirt you walk on...
(yeah, I know it's wikipedia, but every Islamic website I tried getting info for it is block'd=server pwnz me

Anyone notice the secrer service does nothing? I know Bush has low approval ratings, but geez, so low that the secret service has no concern about his safety? LOL

I was very surprised at his reflexes... Also, if that had happened to Hussein or Ahmadinijad (sp?) that reporter would be dead right now... If fact I think he would have been taken outside and shot right there in order to send a message. I did hear that Bush is the one who called the Secret Service to rest though. I don't agree with many of Bush's policies and will likely agree with none of Obamba's, but if he were to get hit with a shoe I would still be pissed, even if I do think he is the most dangerous person to my way of life I have ever experienced.

I heard about this but just caught the video. I'm impressed by how quickly Bush dodged that shoe. Must be part of Presidential training--dodging $hit being thrown at you.
