Pho in LA is so-so. The Korean ones really aren't that bad; they just don't have the depth of some of the authentic places. The bones aren't boiled long enough and most of them don't use all the spices let alone garnish. But, if you haven't been eating pho' for that long, then you're not going to be able to tell the difference between them right away.
My vote for best pho' by area:
OC, Westminster - Vinh Ky Pho' and Pho' 69. They're located across the street from each other on Brookhurst and Hazard. Pho' 69 has a rich broth. Vinh Ky uses fresh noodles and their prices are 50% off. The best pho' in SoCal HANDS DOWN!!!!!
Los Angeles, Koreatown - Pho' LA on 6th and Kenmore. Get the Oxtail soup. TIP: The oxtail meat comes out in it's own separate bowl with broth because they boil it in a separate pot all day. Take a couple of spoonfuls of the oxtail broth and put it into your bowl of noodles. BOMB!! The meatballs are great too. Lots of spices in em. DO NOT GO TO PHOBULOUS OR LE SAIGON!!! NASTY NASTY NASTY NASTY.
SGV - Golden Deli. Their pho' is really good and so are most of their rice plates. If you can't get to Westminster then I'd go here.
Damn I'm hungry, time to get some PHO'!!!

in rowland heights bro... on colima, between azusa and fullerton, south of the 60 freeway. if you're coming from the valley, it's going to take you quiet a while. plus, i have no idea if this is going to happen or not.
