What the insurance comapny is doing makes sense to me. Your brother rear ended someone in your car. The accident was his/your fault. You don't have insurance coverage for it, so you have to pay out of pocket for it. No way the girls' insurance company is just going to foot the bill without trying to collect from the person at fault.

This is common sense i cant believe OP thinks the girls insurance should pay for damages done by his brother who's at fault... Think for a second what your asking OP

if she has uninsured motorist coverage her insurance will fix her car out of their pocket. Once that is done they seek to recoup their money through either collection or possibly a lawsuit.

Is this a real question? I don't understand why OP would think the insurance company would just suck it up and move on.

Insurance companies are a business. A business that tries to make money. You don't make money by giving it away and not trying to collect from who owes it to you.

FYI, since you are the register owner of the car, the ultimiate responsibility falls on you instead of your brother.
