Im not sure if i would change out the crank pulley. Some people have experienced problems. I think theres some harmonic balancer thats in the stock pulley to prevent vibrations.

save your money, i think i heard ppl saying this is no good... get something else if you want to waste some money, like an intake for the hr or something. hahaha.

but seriously, spend your money on something else.

i saw somewhere on here that ppl say no go for the pulleys. don't do crap and just cause problems and cost money. seriously, get something else man. you know there's not much for a hr motor, i have one too. pretty much just go get the reflash. that is probably your best bet. or spend like over 10k and get a turbo kit. which is ridiculous if you ask me. lol.

yeah wut he said. Save up for the headers and the tune. You could also buy some sway bars or something.

i had a unorthodox ultra ss pulley kit on my car till i put my supercharger on and it made a large difference. the engine reved a lot easier, it felt like the engine was more predictable and it felt like it made more horsepower but i already had cold air intake high flow cats headers, but all of that is made so much better with a good ecu re flash...

i drove a friend's before with the pulley and i didn't feel anything, pretty much same as stock.

even if it does something, it's not much imo... reflash is better if you have bolt ons already.

well i had it done, and i have had several people who regularly drive my car, they said they felt a difference. it is i think a fairly large cut of wieght off the stock pulleys and less spinning mass translates almost directly to usable power. itook it off cause it would have lowers the boost on my supercharger but i had it on for ... 5 months... worked good... heres a great example... hypothetically speaking:
put a large truck tire on the ground and try to role it, now do the same thing with one of your z tires, i bet its a hell of a lot easier to role the z tire...

but it costs a crap load of cash to do cause i think you haft to move the radiator slightly in order to get the pulleys off... and i think the pulley kit is ... umm.... 360 bucks... i would say save up another 800 bucks get a cosworth plenum looks good and i think it adds some good power too, and it looks really bad *** in the engine bay and it something you can do at home...

but any way the engine with a pulley kit feels way more responsive and predictable, it wants to rev higher... most of the power is at high rpm's like in my de 5000-7000rpm... in your hr you would most likely feel it more... you don't feel it at all from 750-4000...

That's on the HR. I paid $220 and I ended up missing half a HP lol

Evidence that it doesn't do anything....if you don't belive the forum members...

well the one i had put on was a alt, idlr, and crnk. the chank pulley alone of my engine was at least twice as heavy as every thing n the under drive box and there was huge thing crank anti seize somethin or other in there to. the actual diameter of the crank pulley was.. 20%- 30% smaller so ... i felt a difference after it was done...

lol... thank you A.H, that's where i saw it. and since you had a real world test... i don't doubt you the least bit.

so you see... just get the reflash and be happy with it. i need a reflash, but not too concern about gaining a little bit of ponies. i'm more into the suspension aspect of things.

i had one installed on my Z when it was N/A, it did nothing, ziltch, notta so im not just spouting stuff i read, its something i had first hand experience with. if you do feel a difference its all in the head. even if it did make a few ponies that not something your butt dyno is gonna be able to discern.

hey guys sorry to bring up an old thread but i just purchased a kit with crank, water pump, and alt pulley for real cheap. i was going to put it on because i've had other cars with underdrive pulleys on but the reason why i havnt put them on yet is because someone told me if i put them on it'll cause vibration and will throw off the internal balance of the motor. is that true? it does make sence if the flywheel and crank pulley are offsetting eachother and i put a lighter one up front with a stock flywheel...i dont know please help. power or no power i want to put them on for show at least. but if you guys think it may harm the motor in anyway then i wont. thanks guys!
