Props to Ken & Makito @ Shine Auto Project / Seven Apple Bodyworks
Hey guys, I just want to give props to Ken and Makito at Shine Auto Project and Seven Apple Bodyworks and recommend them to anyone who is in the market for aero parts or for body work.
A friend of mine - who was also a satisfied customer - I was referred me to Shine a couple of months ago when I was shopping around for an aero kit for my Lexus SC300. The owner, Ken, explained to me in great detail about his products over the phone and did the same when I stopped by to pick up the kit. Ken gave me a tour around the facilities showed me how each aero part are individually hand-laid. Everything was developed and produced in-house to ensure quality control.
For comparison's sake, the other competitor companies that I have talked to don't even know anything about their products. Heck, they did not even know that they even carried a kit for my car. Material strength and durability are the competitive advantages of Shine's products. The aero parts are lighter and far more flexible than most competitors out there. Other products felt rigid and heavy like a rock by comparison. Of course, there are JDM companies that produces kits that are second to none but at a much higher price.
Before I had the aero kit fitted and my car completely repainted, along with bodywork, by a local shop, I drove out to Shine to have them assess my car and give me advice on the car. For the most part, everything came out fine. However, a week later a couple of issues arose due to some oversight that was made by the original shop.
Being a photographer with a keen eye, the apparent flaws bothered me really bad so I needed a highly competitent and fair person to assess it and correct it. So I drove out 50 miles back out to Shine Auto Project all the way out in Rancho Cucamonga from Orange County for the third time so that the in-house body-tech/production manager, Makito Nakai, can take a look at it.
For those that don't know, Makito Nakai also operates his own automotive bodyshop business Seven Appleworks on-site. The guy is a reknown automotive painter who have painted many show quality cars using only the top quality materials such as PPG Envirobase paints and Glasurit clear coats.
Makito looked at my car on Tuesday and set aside time for me this Thursday that haved just passed to fix it at a very reasonable price despite having to manage the production team and having other cars in the shop, one waiting to be worked on and one waiting to be finished.

The fix took longer than when we expected as Makito took his time to do it right as he is a perfectionist.

Aside from quality parts at reasonable prices, again, I would definitely recommend them to anyone since they not only stand by their products but willing to out of their way to help customers with issues that they have nothing to do with.
