Becareful when you have too many doing the run. Years ago when I was a member of the BMW club, we did a run and the CHP stopped us on the highway for having a parade without a permit. I think we can get away with maybe up to 20 cars in the secondary roads. It still shouldn't prevent us from getting together and enjoying our rides.

LOL! A Z parade. How are you and your roadster doing Warren?

I think we've had between 25-30 before, driving down PCH, with the largest turn out from Ganz's San Diego bbq where probably 40+ showed up but without that number of cars doing a drive.

What would be interesting would be watching that one chipie trying to stop all 20 bimmers if they decided to just leave.

I'm up for a monthly run.

HFM,

I'm doing fine thanks. Just trying to keep the ashes of fo my roadster especially the clothe top.....

The chipie stopped the lead bimmer and guess what? The side of the freeway ended up to be a bimmer parking lot....

Concerning cop stakeouts...once a run is set on a date, for the preceding 3-4 weeks, the cops should be tipped off for the weekends prior...basically get them on wild goose chases until they can't afford to anymore. :P

i think Parade isnt necessarily the worse of potential problems.

especially canyon carving..

just be safe if you come up toward Santa Clarita (which is famous for its canyons) one of my friend died on bouquet canyon road from just a regular driving (not even spirited) and a BMW forum member died just three weeks ago near Sand Canyon road in irvine after his m3 that he was riding in flipped..

just pocket the egos on these drives.. not worth showin' off your new exhaust or intake at the expense of personal injuries...

ok (turning off parental mode)-

Of course, safety is always the most important. I have done many canyon runs, safely. I do have one friend that is a little out of control. The run wont all be canyon, some scenic drives, etc.

For all those participating on this run. This run is more of a meet (meet other so cal z owners and see their mods) with a fun SAFE drive. Not all will be canyon and I dont want to see people speeding around like idiots. This is going to be fun and safe and more of a chance to get to know other Z owners.

I can't stress this enough. We do not want any tragedies or collisions.

It'll be fun.

OK just got back from SEMA. When is the meet? Do I have time to mod up? Lots of great new toys coming out in the next few months.

Let me begin by saying to any cops that are "WATCHING OUR FORUM"...

UP YOURS!!!

Ahh, that felt good. . . I better not get carded for that (mods ... ).

Anyways, I'm just in one of those moods, sorry...

On the topic of "Parade" - if I could get a ticket stating that we illegally had a "Z" parade I would freakin get that ticket framed. . . How sweet would that be... lol.

Also, I agree with Kaiser, after having organized some of these things, its just not easy to put more than 10 Z's in a row, usually groups of even 20 have to be split in to usable groups. We've been lucky so far here with our so-cal runs but even still we've had "incidents". I'd love to see 50 Z's crowd a parking lot to hang out, but I'll be riding well behind the main "crowd" for that excursion. None the less, I'll launch that email tomorrow, 'cause we do need some more runs. My list is getting VERY outdated. LOL. Must be football season.

Take Care

Default parades

Well, as far as getting popped by the fuzz for having a "parade", unless we are driving like a-holes, I don't think that we have anything to worry about (unless the cop is just in a bad mood). I belong to a motorcycle club that goes on a ride every month and we usually have 50+ bikes in attandance. For as long as I have been riding with them, we have never once been bothered by police. In fact, most speed by us and give us a "thumbs up". I think that it will come down to 2 things:

1. The mood of the police in the area
2. The way we present ourselves on the ride/meet.

I think that as long as we are not driving all silly then we should be ok.

OK guys. We have about 25 people signed up for this run. I wont mention the specific date although i could care less about the cops. Parade my ***. We all went to a aftermarket store and then decided to go for a drive. Nothing was "Organized." I'll take it to court and I'll win. If i don't win, I'll frame the ticket as well.

I am trying to figure out a path and then I will email everyone.

Hope to see you there.
