Default Great Oil Change Deal

Not affiliated with them in any way but I figured that this was too good a deal not to post here and help out some guys trying to save some money. Not sure if posting like this is against the TOS because they aren't a sponsor but if it is let me know and I'll take down the post.

Surf City Nissan in Huntington Beach has $0.99 oil changes Tuesday-Thursday. I don't care if it is the stealership, you aren't going to buy a quart of oil for that much, let alone a full oil change. Its good until the end of last month from the looks of it. Many dealerships will also match the coupons of others in the area so check it out. My total came to a whopping $1.08. Best way I can find to try to steal back some of the money they gouged me for changing my camshaft position sensor lol

I've heard that going from syn to reg can cause seals to leak, but its unconfirmed on my part

This article on the Popular Mechanics site seems to answer the question.

i have ONLY ever used syn in my car since day one... the moment you go to regular it is completely pointless to ever go back to synthetic... i will read the link above to see if what i "assume" is correct.

"Fortunately, the situation has improved; you should have no problem switching back and forth. Adding a quart of mineral oil to a crankcase full of synthetic will be fine. Read the fine print -- a lot of the "synthetics" on the market are blends containing a substantial proportion of mineral oil.''

---STILL NOT SURE I WOULD EVER RUN NORMAL OIL... maybe i will ask the dealership if there is an extra fee if they use synthetic in my car... especially since im only like 3 blocks away lolz
